Donkeys? Elephants? Why Keep Us So Distracted?

I like a good political show-down with the best of them. I used to work in political marketing and grassroots campaigning on a local level, back in the day. I wanted to make a difference and back then, twenty years ago, that’s how I figured I could do it best. In fact, myself and a lot of other hard-working people did make a difference in the area I was living at the time. So I guess it paid off.

But that was then, and this is now, and now has not only gone off the rails politically on a federal level, but it really does deserve its own Reality TV slot.

Before I get all sorts of bi-partisan hate mail, sure that I am bashing one side or the other — this blog is not actually about politics. It’s about those who control the media. It’s about distraction. It’s about how obvious “it” all is. It’s about what’s really happening. It’s about what it’s really about.

What is “it”, you may ask? Well, “it” is the media circus surrounding the us-against-them smack-down that has been turned up to “10” since last November. The Republicans have come out the gate with the most socially polarizing platform since slavery was enacted. The Democrats have swung back with the “we’re doomed!” drama of Leo DiCaprio while he clung to the lifeboat, freezing to death while the Titanic sank behind him. The melodrama is at an all-time high. The characters in the play are crafted to be caricatures of our worst villain and our most oppressed hero.

These characters have been cast in a do-or-die showdown that is the most polarizing good-vs-evil storyline since Harry Potter and he Who Shall Not Be Named had it out at Hogwarts. Oh, wait — that worked really well to get butts in the seats — that must be where they borrowed the archetypes.

If I sound flip about an election that many are claiming could be “the end of America” if it goes one way or the other — well, you’ll forgive me. My work is no longer in the political field, but in the field of reading energy signatures, and unpeeling the onion to see what’s actually going on. And this onion is insultingly stinky. I can honestly tell you that the main players in this election are earnest in their pursuits and claims, on both sides. I can also tell you that it’s just not gonna matter, because the REASON that these candidates are being played up by the media as caricatures from a melodrama is because “they” are hoping the American people will be glued to this finely crafted script, in hopes we won’t see what’s actually happening. “They” are those who drive the true religion in America — alas, not Christianity, but the worship of the almighty god known as “The Dollar”.

So. Let me tell you what’s actually happening in the world, my fellow drama-addicted Americans. And let’s put this craziness to rest, because I believe I’m losing IQ points every time I receive a political email in my inbox.

While all this election hoopla is going down, post-earthquake Japan has replaced all of its nuclear reactors with state-of-the-art wind turbans that are generating ALL of their power. Unless they are paying God a royalty for the wind — their power is clean, and free. The Arab Spring has created a whole new ideology in many middle eastern countries, and people in America are realizing that online petitions — not lobbyists or federal mandates– can change the decision making of huge corporate powers, such as Chase Bank. Humanity is connected in a way that it never has been before through social media, and it’s really hard to pull the wool over the public’s eyes. Back in the day, the media machine controlled the perceptions of everyone by placing key stories in the news. Now, someone can post “I saw Bigfoot!” with a photo on Twitter. So much for controlling content, which controlled the masses.

Now, the only way to control public opinion is through perceived fear. This whole recession was a plan by those who have been trying to shift the power away from the people in America because they looked ahead and realized what the internet was capable of. That doesn’t take someone with psychic abilities. This whole economic issue was avoidable, and happened not because of a few greedy people (which is what we’d all like to believe) but because a global economy decided it was time to pass the superpower hat, and the only way to do that is either through war, or economic collapse. Well, considering that to overthrow the USA would require nukes, and no one wants to play such a permanent game, they opted for financial collapse. And considering “the American Dollar” is a RELATIVE figure — there is no such thing as a real financial collapse.

There’s only a collapse if you’re told it’s collapsing, and we all buy into it. And that’s what happened, right after 9 / 11 (out of respect for those who lost loved ones on that hideous day, I won’t comment on 9 / 11, but I think you’d know what I’d say), which lead to shutting down the airlines — a way to connect people — which lead to slowing shipping, and travel, which lead to slowing down revenue, then slowing down jobs — it was like putting the breaks on a ten thousand mile long train. Eventually, the whole thing just stopped.

And, like trying to start up a ten thousand mile long train — the economy lurched, and chugged and lurched, but the weight of everything that had been attached behind kept it firmly in place, on the tracks.

Those who shut this system down knew exactly what they were doing. They weren’t terrorists. They were global bankers. It was a ten year plan to shift the money on the planet earth that also involved slowing the rest of the global money system to a halt, so it could be re-set.

Ladies and gentlemen, watch your news in 2013 for the brand new global money standard — oil. You heard it here first. And watch for a global bank. Because THAT’S a good idea, allowing one entity to control the commerce for an entire planet. Yep. That will end up fair for everyone, I’m sure.

So, in the meantime, we kept people busy and distracted with homes being repossessed, bail-outs, whatever else would offend the American sensibility to the point of people shutting down and checking out. The Occupy movement was part of this whole “keep ‘em distracted” thing. It was supposed to polarize US against THEM even further. We were supposed to go all Les Miserable on the government, so that Marshal Law could be enacted constitutionally.

But we didn’t do that. Instead, The Occupy movement became about Hipsters eating P & J’s on the front steps of banks, and body odor taking over Times Square. Why? Because those who have orchestrated this whole “fake collapse” forgot one major key component: Americans have been trained to have a short attention span.

Whoopsie.

In this American culture (many people who have lived pretty well by the rest of the globe’s standards), we don’t like to be inconvenienced. We’ve been trained by “them” to be fickle consumers. We partake in something, dispose of it, and move on. We’ve been conditioned to only be attached to the seriousness of an issue, or an item, for a short while — by the same media system that censors our world news by replacing major events covered by the BBC with blurbs on the Kardashians.  Then we stop by Taco Bell on the way home while moving on to Netflix to catch up on “Weeds”.  That’s being an American. The very system they have put into place back in the 1950’s to control the masses through media distraction has trained the masses to be disinterested in anything that takes more than a week to resolve. So this isn’t gonna work so well for a movement like Occupy, which was supposed to build into a Marshal Law situation.

Did I say Whoospie? See, this is what happens when sociopaths attempt to manipulate the body of human culture. They just don’t factor in boredom. Seriously. As an energy puzzle, this is so obvious its painful. And I’m now feeling insulted that “they” think this is actually working.

Hey, guys — it’s not.

In fact, it’s SO not working that they aren’t exactly sure what to do. They tried to break our spirit, and that lasted a few years before an intrinsically happy America — that’s what we’ve been trained to be — decided to get happy again. We got hopeful again. We started social networking again. Christmas came to the Who’s in Whoville anyway.

The ten thousand mile long train started to lurch forward, one chug at a time. And believe me — the “Powers that Be” were floored. We weren’t supposed to do that. We were supposed to lay down and die in fear. But we didn’t. Now, they couldn’t send troops in to control the streets. This whole “crushed by fear” thing was losing ground because good ol’ Capitalist, fickle, changeable Americans were just plain-out bored with being in pain.

Again, something a sociopath wouldn’t be able to see coming.

People fear the coming of the New World Order. But it’s been here since 2000. We’ve been in it for twelve years. This new world money thing they will try and lay down “for the good and stability of the global economy” based upon oil will be the last straw. They know the military won’t turn on its own people at home for no reason, so now that’s out. Leveraging the money across the globe is all they have left.

By taking away the credit cards and bank loans, something that was supposed to demoralize the overspending American public, they have re-trained our obsessive consumer culture to SAVE. And to VALUE. And to no longer seek an outside source to make us feel good, but to DO something for our community to bring in a feeling of true fulfillment into our lives. We have been re-trained to have values once again, by the same weirdos who created a culture without values.

So today on our show, here the New World Weirdos scramble to use the political forum for their podium, trying to pull up a fear file that they think will still work on a culture that lived through one of the scariest times since the great depression, and is now wearing smiles on our faces.

We didn’t collapse in contempt. We made online petitions that changed bank policies.

Can I get one last “Whoopsie”?

They’re pulling out all the stops with the “evil archetype” thing this political election in a way that hasn’t been seen.  It’s quite something. Now let me be clear in stating that both politicians are very earnest about what they are campaigning for. It’s just that those who are running the system have a place for that drama, and that place has nothing to do with either party’s values, nor the agenda of either candidate.

The fascinating fact is — the American people just aren’t buying the drama like they used to. We’re tired. Once again — something a sociopath would have no clue about. There are, of course, people out there who still believe whatever they see on TV. But due to the fact that many no longer trust in the “Powers That Be”, that media information is automatically questioned. For those of us who have been sitting back watching this thing unravel like an energetic ball of string — which does not take a Psychic, by the way — we see different writing on the wall.

I see people not buying into the hysteria. I see a push to frighten and polarize, and this push being ignored as simply too ridiculous and frivolous after all we’ve been through as a nation. I see a panic ensuing as Darkness tries to throw everything it has at the moral of humanity, and humanity saying, “You are not welcome. I reach out to the body of my community, not the body of my fears.” I see people connecting to one another again not on a consumer level, but on an emotional level. I see people turning away from contention and discourse because it simply is too draining to continue to fight. Something a sociopath would never understand.

I see the very thing that “they” were terrified of — the very thing that “they” attempted to strip from this nation by feigning world financial collapse and blaming it on a few people who bought expensive houses (REALLY??) — I see the very thing over which there is no dominion — I see this thing rising as a riptide and stripping away the last of their perceived control:  I see human compassion at an all-time high.

So.

Do your thing, political candidates. I’m a voter, so I’ll do my part. Yet remember:

We here, the body of this nation, know what the deal is — for the first time in a long time. We know that though you both believe in what you’re doing, you both are only two people. You are part of us. We are the body. We are the breath. We are the heartbeat. We are the pulse. We cannot be overrun again. We won’t let it happen. We will not succumb to the same manipulations. We understand that template now. We do not deify money as we once did. We do not deify items as we once did. We do not deify fame as we once did. We have returned to what matters, and in this, there is great power — the power in the compassion of the people.

We, the people, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Going on Record: What’s Really Inside China’s ‘Mushroom Cloud’

First and foremost, let it be known that I am a huge natural science fanatic. I grew up in Montana and spent a great deal of time learning about nature. As kids living in a very seasonal high-desert climate that is prone to extreme weather changes, we were taught the different types of clouds and the weather patterns that create them in an attempt to keep us from being pelted by an Armageddon-class thunder storm.

That being said: Just because a cloud looks like a thunder head — or cumulonimbus cloud — doesn’t mean that it is a thunder head. If an enormous water tower bursts at the top of the hill, millions of gallons of water pour down the streets. The water looks and acts like a river. However — it is not.

Bejing, China recently was beset with an enormous “mushroom cloud” that struck fear in the heart of its residents. China is no stranger to extreme weather phenomenon, with ice and sand storms as well as raging tornadoes sculpting the landscape. The fact that the citizens of Bejing flooded YouTube with videos of this unusual cloud was — well — unusual. And the fact that the world news covered the giant “thunder cloud” in order to make sure that it was labeled a “thunder cloud” was again — unusual.

I don’t’ recall the last time a big non-tornado-generating thunder cloud received world coverage…do you? If that’s the case, I need to put CNN on speed dial every summer I spend back home in Montana, because according the Associated Press, the cumulonimbus cloud in the Big Sky State would be making headlines every other night during the 5 o’clock storms.

Obviously, the Chinese population knew that this was not an ordinary cloud. So did the Powers That Be, which is why they made sure that media made a big deal out of the fact that it was “just a cloud”. The Chinese people feared the cloud to be nuclear-generated due to the eerie glow emanating from the cloud. One could argue that the “glow” in the cloud was simply the sun’s light being caught high in the atmosphere at sunset. Except if one really looks at the photos of the mystery cloud — that theory is easily debunked. You can’t reflect light from only the inside a cloud, and not have that same light illuminating the outside the cloud.

Well, not unless something inside the cloud was glowing. That is, after all, why the Chinese population was sure that the cloud was some sort of nuclear fallout charged with radioactive particles. Clouds don’t just glow unless you’re watching a Ron Howard film.

Cumulonimbus clouds are thunder clouds of a whopping proportion. They are very tall and shaped like an anvil on the top. They can be miles across and miles high. Their bulky top can sometimes be shaped more like a mushroom, because nature can do what it wants, but mostly the cloud has pointed, flared edges. Cumulonimbus clouds are famous for their “stalk” and “head”. Thus the term “thunder head”.

The cloud over China had neither a stalk, nor a head, so it would have to be one deformed and psychotropic cumulonimbus cloud.  Plus there’s that glowing thing and an entire storm-savvy city population who is freaking out and uploading their freak-outs to YouTube.

But it’s just a great big pretty rain cloud that made international news across all the major press outlets…right?

Sure.

One of the (unfortunate) side-effects of my Psychic attributes is my ability to pick up OffWorld, or Extraterrestrial communications. As someone who has been visited by them, perhaps this is simply a side effect from their visits. Needless to say, the ability to “pick up” their communications is an “unfortunate” side effect because they often aren’t chatting about anything gripping. It’s more like having a police scanner picking up the idle chatter that goes on all day and all night. Once in awhile there is some really interesting stuff, but mostly it’s all about routine executions of long-standing missions, where earth is concerned. That may sound very interesting, and it was… when I was four. Now, it’s just business as usual. Sound too Star Trek yet? Well just wait. It gets better.

Here’s the deal: Obviously, there is other life in the universe. Human kind is a relatively late new-comer in the galactic life game. God created many other races and species before us, and some of those species are distant cousins of ours. (And yes, my head just about flew off in glee when I saw Prometheus. Take away the Hollywood-ization and add more of a gene-splicing aspect rather than “the starting of life”, and that’s basically it. But that’s another blog for another day). In effect, this planet, and human kind, have been looked after for a very long time, by not only God, and God’s angels, and all the Elementals that God put here to keep nature in line — but by our OffWorld cousins, many of which use the planet’s many vortex points as a “switching station” between different quadrants of the universe. These guys are temporal (wormhole) travelers, and our earth, with its huge amount of salt water and the fact that it’s spinning over an iron core — is a perfect electromagnet. Earth is the LAX of temporal jump points.

Still not Star Trekky enough for you? Well how about this: Right now, all around the earth, our OffWorld cousins have some pretty big craft that are high up in the atmosphere, helping to “siphon off” geothermal energy. The planet is being “scrunched” like a Nerf ball, compressed from going through a high-gravitational well point in the Milky Way Galaxy, something it does every 50,000-60,000 years. This “scrunching” forces the plates of the earth under one another. We saw evidence of this last year as Japan moved 9 feet west. Had our OffWorld cousins not been helping with this “siphoning pressure” project, Japan may have gone mainland.

Basically, imagine a grid of really big ships that act as “flying buttresses” high up in the Ionosphere that help “release” pressure inside the earth and siphon it up through the earth’s magnetosphere and out into space. There are a few vessels up the west and east coasts of the United States, as well as straight up the heartland. Remember all those bizarre earthquakes in 2011 on the east coast and in the middle of the country? This would have been worse if not for our friendly Extraterrestrial “scaffolding” around the nation.  These large craft are obviously stationed other places around the world as well for the same geomagnetic reasons.  I could go on and on about how this geothermal siphoning works, but back to the cloud.

China is a UFO hotspot. That’s no secret. Poor China is constantly yanking all sorts of YouTube videos and smart phone photos offline. The first “Norway Spiral” type phenomenon was first captured in China back in the 80’s. A UFO that shut down a Chinese airport made international news for five seconds in 2011. China did not deny the event happened. They just did what China does best and said nothing at all after the news and photos got out. There are numerous under water UFO “bases” and temporal vortex points at the bottom of the ocean right off the Chinese coast, between China and Japan. The fact that the ring of fire is right around the corner has a great deal to do with these OffWorld occupations and vortex points. Where you find HUGE geothermal pressure — you find “bends” in the EMF field. Where you find EMF fluctuation, or vortexes, you find OffWorlders.

Our OffWorld cousins, though technologically much more savvy than we are, are not God, and don’t have the ability to “save us”. They can, however, help out, which they often do, sometimes not even as much for us but to help stabilize their “runway” on earth, their LAX. Hey, if you’ve been using a roadway for hundreds of thousands of years, you’d want to maintain it, too.

I’ve been picking up for some time that China has a big upcoming earthquake that will likely sprout later this year. This will be followed by more quakes globally. So it makes sense that our OffWorld cousins would have one of these Ionospheric Siphons (really big craft) in place over Bejing to help ease some of that plate pressure.

To cut to the chase: Is there a big ol’ UFO in that cloud over Bejing? Yep. Am I sure it’s just not a storm cloud? Yep. Why? Let me explain.

Cumulonimbus clouds are big thunderheads but they have very specific characteristics. Sure, Mother Nature can twist up the recipe any time she wants. However, if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck — it’s a duck. In this case, it’s an exceptionally humongous garden-variety OffWorld craft, several miles across, that are usually undetectable because they either go “out of phase” with the pulse of the third dimension, or they bend light which makes them appear “invisible”. (Temporal travel crash course sidebar: 1 – Phasing works like a TV signal. Think TV picture interlacing, where one line, then another, then another stack up on one another to make a whole picture from an odd field and an even field. Our third dimension is the even field and our OffWorld friends are “out of phase” in the odd field, but still in this dimension. 2 -“Bending Light” is about crinkling space and stepping into the crinkle so the light is reflected, like a little kid who hides in the drapes in the living room. The kid is still there but the drapes have him concealed.)

And yes, all major world governments know about OffWorlders and have dealt with them. They just don’t tell us because they think we’ll riot in the streets. The US Government was supposed to disclose to us in 2011 about the OffWorld connection but because of the financial crisis, they decided that would be too Jerry Springer, and didn’t do it. The problem is, with the geothermal issues the earth is going to have in the near future, these ships are going to have to come closer to the earth’s surface, and that makes them harder to hide. Phasing puts off HUGE amounts of EMF and that blows power grids, and though bending light is a softer approach, the fact that the craft has to get lower to the earth’s surface causes EMF pressure.

Pretty much, it’s like trying to hide a mile-long ocean liner in New York harbor. Good luck.

So the world governments are behind on the ET disclosure, and hopefully they’ll get there before these craft must be “de-cloaked” in order to do what it is they are able to do, to their full potential. Like anything else, it takes energy to “hide” a craft of that magnitude, and that energy could be better used elsewhere if push came to shove. Again, they may be technologically advanced, but they aren’t God.

So this is where our Bejing cloud comes into play. The “cloud” is actually an after-effect of a positive ion charge created by technology these OffWorlders use to get their ships to “float”. I call this technology “zero buoyancy”, mostly because the word they use for it doesn’t exist in English because we’re not there yet technologically, and because as far as I’ve been able to chronicle and eavesdrop, it’s a zero gravity technology based upon a reflective buoyancy principle. The “atmosphere” created by the zero-buoyancy technology creates a “resistant” space which surrounds the craft, generating just enough “tension” against the skin of the earth’s gravitational pull that the craft “floats” in the air, as a boat hull floats atop water. The earth’s atmosphere rubs against this “artificial atmosphere” and creates friction, resulting in electo-static energy — or, lightning — as well as charging the air with positive ions. The latter contributes to condensation — clouds.

Too much geek speak? I thought it might be, so I actually delved into photoshop and made some illustrations about how all this works. I figure the less we have to fear, as a species, the less we’ll act like extras on Independence Day once our harmless OffWorld cousins show up. Now, I’m warning you, I usually use photoshop to touch up my press shots, thank you very much. (I’m over 40 — I’m allowed). So this whole “scientific how-to” illustration is new territory for me. Let’s try it one more time with pictures, and hopefully this will all be better explained:

Now one might ask — what about the shape of this cloud? Cumulonimbus clouds have that tell-tale bulbous shape, too, so couldn’t the Bejing Cloud just be a thunder cloud? Well, yes, but it’s not, and the cloud has a few “tells” that if you know what you’re looking for — gives it away. As the craft’s “artificial atmosphere” spins against the earth’s atmosphere and “floating tension” is created, the centrifugal force shifts the cloud vapor to the center points of the craft. Naturally occurring cumulonimbus clouds are tall with an anvil-shaped top “flare” shaped by the storm’s cold air running into warm air. “UFO clouds” have more pronounced “bell” sides in the middle of the cloud, a longer “sloping” bottom, and unusual glow.

Take a look at this view of the bottom “slope” of this amazing “cloud” (craft) — these upper atmosphere stabilizing craft are HUGE:

Are they here to invade? No. They would have done that before the earth was trashed. Plus, many of them used to live here anyway and have moved on.

Are they hostile?  No, not these guys with these craft. They’re on our side.

Are there hostile ET’s? Yes, but they are kept in check by our more advanced OffWorld cousins, like an older brother looking out after a younger sibling. There are also hostile humans and the earth hasn’t been destroyed yet, so don’t let the whole “hostile” thing keep you up at night.

Does the government know they are here? Already covered, and yes. The United Nations, the peace keeping leg of earth’s conscience, even has UNOOSA — The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs. (Which was put into play in 1958, miraculously four years after Eisenhower signed the Greada Treaty with the Grays, but that’s a chapter in my upcoming book). The OffWorld race that has the Bejing Cloud ship is not the Grays.

Yes, there are HUGE cumulonimbus clouds that look kind of like UFO’s that end up dropping tornadoes all over Kansas, and they don’t have anything supernatural going on for them.

So.

I hope I haven’t spun you out into What The Heck Land too badly, but that’s the crash course in OffWorlder occupation, technology, and histoty. Next time you look at a storm cloud, see if you can tell the difference between a garden variety cumulonimbus thunder cloud and a low-hanging OffWorlder craft. Not every cloud is a UFO, and not every UFO is in a cloud.

After all — all apples are fruit, but not all fruit are apples. But one thing’s for sure: Just like an apple — that cloud over Bejing wasn’t empty.

The Human Race: Who We Really Are

What if you woke up one day and found out you were the son or daughter of a superhero, inheriting incredible powers you didn’t even know you had that would enable you to change your everyday world in an instant?

Please allow me to wake you from your slumber — because the aforementioned is true.

How do we access these powers? Where do we find them? How do we know that we even have them? Nothing’s weirder than learning that this whole time, you had superhero genetics. Well, except maybe for finding out that you were the secret heir to WaMart. But I can’t help you with that part.

Since this is a lot of family history to take in, in five sentences… let’s start at the beginning.

Though many people’s spiritual leanings are a cornucopia of this-and-that’s from many world religions, mine included, the creation theories amongst religions do not vary all that much. I find that fascinating because when we’re dealing with the origin of our species, human beings have an inbred knowledge that we did not come from solely from earth. In Plains Indian Native American spirituality, Mother Earth and Father Sky gave birth to mankind. The sky was involved. The most interesting creation theory comes from the Jewish Torah, which does not illustrate a God who needed to procreate with another entity (Mother Earth and Father Sky), but a God that was able to create life from only Itself, and dirt — like throwing a pot on a wheel. According to the Bible, God was the original Do-It-Yourselfer.

In fact, according to Biblical literalists, we are created in the Image of God. The same literalists claim that humankind is intrinsically evil. One of these things doesn’t belong here.  You ever wonder why?

I’ll tell you.

If the human race were ever to truly grasp how powerful we are — our potential, our abilities, our true design — we’d have no need for money. We’d have no need for jobs that did not fulfill the desires of our soul. We’d have no fear of loss. We’d be uncontrollable by a third party who relies on our addiction to the idea that we are limited in our resources, and that these resources can only be granted by a third party who wishes to keep us all in lack, limitation, and fear.

We’d be free to focus not on survival, not on what we don’t have, not on the self — but on developing systems that would continue to benefit the whole. If we no longer are addicted to the idea of isolation, if we no longer see ourselves as a soul against the world, then we become part of everything around us. We become the body of society. We become the blood of evolving and positive change. We become the beauty instead of striving toward the beauty. We no longer have need for stigma, for dogma, or for judgment. We only have the need to connect to All That Is — one another, nature, Universe — God.

This is not an unfamiliar ideal. Jesus the Christ talked a great deal about this concept: Give up your earthly riches, not because there’s anything wrong with them, but because as humans, we tend to get distracted and caught up in shiny things. When we’re caught up, it’s harder to remember that we don’t need to be caught up.  Jesus wasn’t anti-wealth. He was pro-spirit.

Of course, to teach people that they don’t need to have the best bangles and bobbles in order to get into heaven then sort of defeats the purpose of those who are attempting to create a human dependency on “stuff”. As long as we think we aren’t “enough” without the help of something we can buy, including absolution from a church, then those who create the “stuff” hold our very identities in their pocketbooks. It’s brilliant marketing.

How can a ploy so obvious be overlooked? Well, unfortunately, all mammals here on earth have branched out from one another at some point in evolution. Oddly, human beings are a lot like squirrels. We like to collect a bunch of stuff and bury it all over the place — in our attic, in our garage, in our closets — because this makes us feel like we’ll be “protected” from having “no stuff.” This “no stuff” fear is partly biological, as animals tend to stock their dens. However, the level to which Humanity indulges gluttony is truly unique. Pretty soon, our need to “have stuff” isn’t about making sure we have enough toilet paper on a rainy day. The stuff then becomes our identity. We actually believe that the stuff defines us. We believe we are the stuff. We don’t own the stuff. It owns us.

Welcome to the imprisonment of the human consciousness. This is what made Jesus cringe. Not the fact that we obsessively collect Precious Moments figurines.

“Stuff” isn’t always physical, either. It can be dogma. We believe we must “do” this or that in order to “be” this or that. Nothing could be further from the truth. We are who we are. What we are is WHO we are. What we DO is something else entirely.

The Human Race is designed in the image of God. But, that’s not to say God has two arms and two legs. Look at Genesis 1:27 — “And God said, Let us make man in our image…’ First of all, God is so BIG that even GOD doesn’t refer to Itself in the singular. (Note that “my image” isn’t part of that sentence). God exhibits a collective consciousness. That’s pretty awesome. Secondly, the word “image” is translated from the Hebrew word “tselem”, which means “shadow” as a stand-alone word. However, if one knows anything about Hebrew, one knows a word can mean something entirely different depending on where it is placed — at the beginning or end of a sentence — and which male or female qualifier is attached to the word. To translate the phrase, literally and truly, from the original Hebraic language would read in English:

“And the Great Powerful One filled the man with a representation of himself”

Ladies and gentlemen, humanity is Creator’s very own maple bar. God is the creamy filling. Our body is the pastry. This defining Biblical sentence is all about being a physical vessel that is spiritually FILLED with the ESSENCE of God. It’s about humanity becoming living illustrations of the character of God, the compassion of God. We were to illustrate the overwhelming creativity and the ONENESS of an entity that won’t even refer to Itself in the singular when musing on about creating everything.  We were literally created — to represent. We aren’t “God Dolls”. We’re “God Ambassadors”.

And, like an Ambassador, we bring with us the power and the authority of that who sent us. We were sent to DO what we were sent to do. Seeing as that we are a representation of the very thing that created the Universe and everything in it, that means that we, too, have the power to create anything — and everything within it. This is a lot of creative freedom. This means that if we wish to create struggle, for ourselves or for others — we can. If we wish to create restriction for ourselves and others — we can. Our free will and our natural given God-esque creation abilities allow us to create both light and dark representations of everything we wish to experience, without restriction.

This is where we go a little off track.

Humanity is not some sniveling evil maggot under the heel of and angry, righteous God. That is what those who wish to have power over humanity would have us believe. Humanity is a powerful and brilliantly creative race that when aligned can do absolutely anything. We’ve split atoms. We’ve cloned species. We’ve healed and uplifted and educated. We have also raped and pillaged and destroyed. So why, in God’s name, if we are designed to represent for Ultimate creativity, love, joy, and expression — or, God — do we act like Hannibal Lecter?

Well, because we’ve forgotten who we really are, being raised with a limitation consciousness, brainwashed into believing we are so much less than what our blueprints designated us to be. We have been held captive by darkness until we suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, claiming our captor’s nature is our nature. We have been lost on a trajectory that we have created, one chaotic eon after another. We’ve fallen away from our design to connect with one another, with nature, with All That Is and Will Be, and in our oblivion, we’ve fallen into fear.

All is not lost for Humankind. Humankind is simply lost. So let me help us get back on track by busting out the spiritual GPS, and see if we can find a Starbucks along the way, because I could use a coffee right about now.

In our wandering about, lost in this universe we have created around us like a warped layer in The Matrix, whose almighty diety is the dollar and whose sense of connection is 140 characters or less, we find ourselves yearning for something. We yearn for a connection each other, ourselves, what we really are, and to All That Is. We still aren’t sure what it is we’re looking for — you know, like Bono sang about in U2 — so we fill that yearning with the most odd of things. We have moments of connection yet fall back into a place of separation. There’s a reason that TV commercials for anti-depressants are at an all-time high.

Inside of each adult human being is a five year old who just wants to be handed a treat and allowed to play. And what does a five year old do, if lost in the shopping mall? It cries because it’s afraid.

We’re lost in the mall. So, if we are ambassador’s for All That Is, each of us containing superhero powers to create anything we want to our of thin air and a little hard work — then how can we possibly feel afraid? If we contain pieces of The Light, of God — how is it possible that we can fall into so much fear? After all, God isn’t afraid of anything… is It?

The fact is, God does not fear anything, because God IS everything. Yet we are not God. But we are an extension of Everything. Therefore, we have to remind ourselves not to fall into fear. It is fear that drives us apart as a species. We are afraid we will starve, so we pillage. We are afraid we will go without, so we steal. We are afraid we will not be seen for our contributions, so we gossip. We are afraid we are invisible, so we commit violent acts. We are afraid someone will take what we have, so we oppress those who are weaker. Yet if God is everything — God is also fear, right? Right. Yet God does not fear. So how does that work, and how can we get in on that action?

Let me explain.

In our body, blood courses through our veins. Yet we are not “blood”. In our mind, dark thoughts sometimes occupy space. Yet we are not “dark”. Our stomachs growl inside our bodies, yet we are not a “growl”. The singular parts of what God is — what Creation is — does not define It.  It is not even the singular parts made into one body that defines Creation. Creation — God — is only defined by what It creates.

As representations of this design — so are we. We don’t have to be a cake to bake one. Yet we forget that we are not what we create. We are so tied to the limitations in the physics of our physical reality, and so disconnected from our actual spiritual design which has nothing to do with limitation, that we literally believe we become whatever it is we create.

I have good news — this is not true.

I also have bad news — this is not true.

How can this be good and bad news? Well, if one is a person who is not kind, not considerate, and not ethical, yet creates a persona who commits kind, considerate and ethical acts in front of key individuals while terrorizing the rest of everybody — our few planted acts of kindness while wearing that “persona” does not make us “a kind person”.

Since we are not what we create, the good news is that if we create a mistake — we aren’t a mistake. It’s more accurate to say that we live with the consequences of what we create, good or bad.

So, that being said, with superhero powers to create anything — then why not only create things with good consequences? Well, because somehow we still believe that we are a victim in this wild, unpredictable life, like a leaf being bashed against he rocks while plummeting down rapids atop the frigid water. Certainly, we are not in control of absolutely everything. We’re not The Creator. Sometimes we get in the way of someone else’s really rotten lesson, and we get a little rot splashed on us. That’s just a proximity issue, and we can choose to process that “splash” as life lesson if it suits our learning curve. In truth, sometimes crap just happens, and the lesson is just to let it go and not try and personify the crap until we make it into something it’s not. The lesson is to NOT make it a lesson.

Though we are not responsible for the trajectories of those around us, and sometimes those trajectories impact us in horrific ways, we are, however, in control of what WE author in this lifetime.

Which leads me right back to who we really are and your secret rad-dog super powers.

Humanity is designed to DESIGN. Like cells, we are designed to split apart and just keep building things. We are designed to work together in a body, individually, but as one. We are designed to not want, nor yearn, because we are designed to provide everything for ourselves that we need. This design gets in the way of fear, the foremost groove-busting tool of Darkness. People who align with Darkness will then misuse their super powers, designing systems that instead of edifying others, end up restricting resources from people — and then we’re back to square one, too worried about where our next meal is coming from to create a garden that would provide a meal everyday.

Imagine a world without money. Many can’t and many say it’s an impossibility. But it’s more real a probability than one may think. Money is only an agreed-upon form of trade. If no one agrees on the money — it’s worthless. Also, if certain resources were available to all, money would seem a bit silly.

For instance, if food were readily available for everyone, money would have less value. If clean, warm shelter were available to everyone, money would have less value. If clothes were available to everyone, money would have less value. If electricity and clean water were readily available to all, money would have less value. If transportation and fuel were available to all, money would have less value. Money was created to restrict the flow of goods and services and in the process, money is seen as The Creator. Money has been made into God. If one has money, one can become the ultimate creator — one can create anything. One can have it all.

Yet your superhero genetics dictate that you can have it all anyway.

Surely money helps in this reality. Yet we were not designed to need it. Money is a system we created. If we master the ability to do what it was that we were DESIGNED to do, which is literally manifest and create stuff out of thin air — then money seems pretty stupid. If you could call to you anything, manifest anything — then a wad of paper with dead presidents on it would seem like lint in the pocket.

In fact, we are able to create something “from thin air”. We represent God, creation.  We are It’s ambassadors to this third dimension. This ability is our spiritual birthright. It’s part of our spiritual genetics. Because we are not God, we may not have the command of the physics around us (yet) to make a donkey appear in the middle of the room, like David Copperfield. But, we do have the ability to work toward what we want — not simply to “earn the money to buy it” necessarily, but to put the energetic effort out into the universe so what we desire can find us, like a flare in the night.

If we all worked together to share resources, money would be outmoded over night because there would be no power in having more resources than another. This is not Eutopian suggestion, nor is it a nudge toward Communism. It’s a statement on the obvious misuse of the money energy. Many say a world without money is an “impossible dream” thanks to the fear of lack, or greed. I’m here to tell you that it is very possible. Why? Because we are the body, the body creates the work, and the work creates the world.

We have created limitation and restriction up to this point, very effectively. We can create a different trajectory just as easily. That is, if we’d get out of fear.

Perhaps this will help illustrate who we really are, as a species: The moment we decide we do not wish to participate in any energy signature — it goes away. From the Berlin Wall to Small Pox, both of these large agents didn’t simply vanish into thin air. They were vanquished when we created another paradigm to which we all decided to adhere. We did not wish to participate with Small Pox anymore, and we created a cure. We did not wish to participate with the Berlin Wall anymore, and we tore it down.

Evaluate your own life and ask yourself: What do I wish NOT to participate with anymore? And how do I take steps to de-construct the relationship I have, with which I no longer wish to participate? You’ll be amazed at how quickly the “drama” flies out of your life, ergo — “manifesting” the life you have always wanted to have, without spending a dime to move to a better neighborhood and buy better friends.

Change in this incarnation, in this third dimension, comes from action. All action is free. It does not cost money. It doesn’t cost money for me to decide to play an instrument. The deciding part was the action. Once I make a decision, I now need an instrument. I could buy one, or borrow one, or rent one. The later takes money. But I can decide I’m going to take on a part time job just to get enough money to buy a guitar. I “apply” for a job and get it — ergo, I “manifest” the job and the money. I buy the guitar and I learn to play it.

The entire way, money did not rule the trajectory. My decisions did.

Just because I can bake a cake does not mean I am a cake.

As a species we are on a brilliant precipice overlooking our next step in spiritual and emotional evolution. We cannot stay in the illusion that would have us believing that we “are” our “stuff”. Newsflash — no, we’re not. We are creators and designers that don’t need to “hang on” to not only the third-party widgets that we’ve made in order to define who we are, but outdated modalities that no longer serve us. As my dear friend Roy would say:

“If you have one foot in yesterday, and one foot in tomorrow, you pee on today.”

Yup.

Without today, which is all we have, we have no footing to launch tomorrow. Just like a pre-teen, humanity cannot stop the spiritual growth spurt into which we have begun. We must wake up into who we really are, begin “using our powers for good”, or perish in the illusion of what we are not. It no longer serves us to hide in our weakest attributes — abuse, starvation, neglect. We have learned all we are going to learn, as a species, through those teaching tools. We have yet to learn what life is all about without the addiction to secondary fearful garbage that defines our species.

We have yet to learn that we are not a cake.

In fairness to humanity, we’ve had some occasions to question who we are as a species. The Nazi concentration camps were a tragic exercise in choosing Darkness. War and victimization are both twisted and complex lessons. Yet we have made progress in noting that the outcome is always the same when dealing with those dark energies. Just like the guy who got out of the bad relationship and ran to the hills screaming, we have learned our lesson about “bad energetic relationships.”  Many world banking and business institutions are terrified that they will have no value if money has no value. That’s simply not true. A bank is a storehouse that makes money on our money. If money was no longer needed to level the playing field, then the role of banks would change.  They would simply manage all that  we deemed held value.

This blog isn’t about how “evil” money is. In fact, money is simply an energy, no more, no less. It is humanity’s dependence on the need to control others out of fear that has cast money in the role of the Creator, the Equilizer — of God. But it is not. It is simply something we’ve dreamed up, while drifting through The Matrix. It is our last lesson in restriction. It is our last illusion that we cling to because in order for us to truly wake, we’ll realize what we are truly capable of.

Today, try out your superhero powers. Give them a spin and watch the miraculous change you’re capable of bringing into reality: Decide upon a situation in your life that no longer serves your highest well being, and decide not to participate with that energy anymore. It doesn’t have to be anything dramatic. Just imagine a water faucet attached to your heart, with a hose running out toward the situation that no longer serves you, giving it water to grow. Turn the hose off and watch the water trickle to a halt. Then pull your hose in and carry on. Take the energy away from the situation that is being “watered” by your energy, and turn your attentions to something you’ve always wanted to accomplish. Toss your hose in that direction, and turn on the faucet, watching the water sprinkle this new area of your life. Focus on growing that alone, and watch your life change instantly, one moment at a time.

Seriously, it’s better than watching a Chia Pet grow.

So now that you know who you really are, Grasshopper, I fully expect you to get out into this world and try out your all-creative, amazing superhero powers. Darkness is excepting you to read this blog and decide it’s all hooey. In fact, Darkness is counting on the Stockholm Syndrome to kick in, and counting on each and every one of us to talk ourselves out of who we really are. We’ve been doing it for generations, and we’re good at denying the truth of our lineage. We have been walking about with the keys to a new car in our pocket, yet have convinced ourselves the keys are nothing more than old pretzels left over from a party. We walk asleep amidst the dreamscape of the fearful.

Wake up, you beautiful being. Thaw into who you are. Wipe the crust from your eyes. You’re miraculous. You’re created to do anything. You are anything. You are the creation of Creation. You are hostage to no one, beholden to no one, betrothed only to Light. Wake, and accept your lineage. Wake, and use your super powers for good. The world needs you. You need you.

Wake.

Design vs. Desire: Are You Losing Out to Your Own Ego?

If I had a dime – no, a nickel – for every time someone claimed they would not change who they are in the face of success, I’d be a wealthy woman. If I had a mere penny for every time the individual who made this claim then changed into someone who the first version of themselves would loathe to be around at a cocktail party, I’d be able to purchase Sir Richard Branson’s Empire. “Virgin Egglantic” – I think it has a ring, don’t you?

Success: It is the earmark toward which Western Culture not only aspires, but is driven to worship.  We are programmed at an early age with the blanket concept of “being successful”. We are trained that the definition of success is money, stature, power, and status. We are taught that successful people are a special breed, the superstars, and we are drilled with the social mores of a physical world to define ourselves by how “successful” we are.

There’s just one problem with this flow chart:  If we are to define ourselves by our outward and physical success, which can only be the secondary effect of our efforts in the world – then who are we in the world until we are “successful”?

Are we some poor nameless blob living an irrelevant life, wandering up and down the street grasping at an identity we may or may not ever achieve like that guy at a corporate convention who gropes a table while drunk, blindly searching for his nametag? Good lord. No wonder the depression rate in the United States of America has skyrocketed though the recession.

If we do not exist without a trail of bells and whistles to define us, then there are an awful lot of people in this nation who have simply “ceased to be” as homes and cars are repossessed. Indeed, if one has been watching the news since 2008, we’ve seen the dissipation of the American identity in real time. The whole system implies that we are an invisible non-person until we achieve something that others are able to quantify – or, “success”.  Yet how is this invisible non-person to achieve the success of a hyper-visible superstar? How can an invisible non-person even make it on the radar to land the opportunities that would provide money, stature, power, and status?

Welcome to the spiritual double edge sword of Design vs. Desire, and the social cycle of economic class control. As long as people continue to collectively buy into the idea that “success” is only traceable through physical means – cars, houses, promotions, status, a hot spouse, getting on the A-List, getting the better job, boats, clothes, shoes, fancy vacations – then people will continue to believe that who they are is what they are. However, nothing could be further from the truth, especially if the individual’s claims of identity are centered on external factors. At the same time, nothing could be more centered in truth if the person is in alignment with their path. Thus, the double-edged sword of “Who we are is what we are” is born.

More often than not, a person will stand in denial and claim they are “on their spiritual path” simply to morally justify the bells and whistles and toys they’re taking home at the expense of their own purpose. Welcome to one of Darkness’ most effective poisons against humanity: Ego.

With such a razor-thin line we must walk between Process and Purpose, it’s no wonder that people fall off the balance beam. If what we are betrays who we are, then we’ve strayed off the Path of Purpose and into the Arena of Ego. When we deviate from being motivated by our inner joy to being motivated by our outer desires – we’ve just derailed the train.

This “twist around” in one’s path usually starts out with good intentions, as do most calamities in life. To understand how we go from on-point to off-kilter, one must put themselves in the shoes of mankind’s most persistent spiritual predator – Darkness. If one thinks like Darkness, then the process of throwing someone off-kilter by starting with their best intentions makes sense. Since Darkness cannot affect change in our life directly – it doesn’t have that kind of power over us as we are Creatures of Light — it must work off of what drives us. Once we are full-tilt on our path, Darkness uses our own inertia to make its move. Since it cannot influence us directly, it must slowly dissuade us from our highest purpose by distracting us onto another path while still maintaining full velocity. This takes a great deal of patience on the part of Darkness. If it pushes too hard, we are suddenly made aware of our bad choices by too many people alerting us to the change in our behavior, and we shape up.  Universally, Darkness is allowed to look right through us, like an X-Ray, to view our file of deepest insecurities. Once this fear-file is pulled, Darkness whispers suggestions to us that will result in miniscule course correction, that at the time, seem like fantastic ideas. Many miles down the path, we’re still barreling forward all guns a-blazing yet suddenly we notice the landscape doesn’t look right. We were heading for the ocean, and somehow we’ve ended up on the desert – out of gas. Darkness then hops off our train, has a good laugh, and leaves us to bake in the sun. Our “success” then amounts to a home for fire ants and scorpions.

In real life, the process of this life-path hijacking usually looks something like this: An individual has a lifetime desire, or a dream, and so they throw everything they have into pursuing this burning sensation in their spirit. At first, their ambition is a pure beacon burning in the darkness, blazing a fearless path through never-before charted territories for themselves and for others. This phase of life is filled with pure excitement and adrenaline. Every cell in our being is resonating with possibility. We are not focused on the obstacles, but the possibilities. We work tirelessly day and night to build this beautiful life in which we envision ourselves – earning a college degree, starting our own business, our own band, launching our own career and our own family. Yet along the way somewhere, we forget that the structure we are building is simply that – a mere foundation on which to place our dreams. We begin to assign so much of our self worth to the Process of what we are doing, rather than the Purpose of what we are doing, that we mistake the foundation of our own design – FOR our Design. We forget that we embarked upon the great journey to fulfill the desires of our soul. Instead, our drive to birth something beautiful into the world is replaced with the desperation to take more and more from the world. Once “success” is achieved and the bounty of the life begins to flood in – money, power, stature – the person who once was the “designer” is slowly usurped by the design. We then become a pandering slave to the illusion of our own empire, driven no longer by the love for what we are doing, but instead by the fear of losing everything we have.

Transforming Love to Fear – the calling card, and the specialty, of Darkness. Cut to the rusting derailed train in the Mojave and cue the buzzards.

To understand the “who we are is what we are” concept, we must first be acquainted with what we are not. We are not the external world. We are not material possessions. We are not the choice of another individual to marry us. We are not the money in our bank account. We are not the cars in our driveway. We are not the title on our door. We are not the promotion we are longing for. We are not the record deal. We are not the clothes and the jewelry we’ve accrued. We are not how many albums we sell or how many films in which we are cast. All of those items are mere reflections of our efforts, not our identity. Those efforts may or may not fall within our purpose, yet our identity always falls within our purpose. Our Design is indelibly stamped within our spirit. Our Design is not a matter of fate, but it is a skill set with which we are blessed that when best set to purpose will net life-altering results not only for ourselves but for others around us.

It is easy to see what we are “not”. It is less simple to define what we are, as we are the internal world, or the world of the spirit. We are spiritual creatures navigating a three-dimensional environment while seated in a “space suit” made of flesh. We are the bringers of miracles through our empathy. We are joy. We are hope. We are possibility. We are compassion. We are sorrow. We are strength. We are made to grow. We are subject to fear. We are love.

We bring miracles through empathy by offering a kindness to someone at a crucial time in their life, thus saving it. That is how we affect the external world.

We exude joy into our environment thus giving others permission and safety to do so themselves. That is how we affect the external world.

We choose hope which births hope in others. This is how we affect the external world.

We pour enthusiasm into the stagnant pond, oxygenating the water with fresh possibilities. This is how we affect the external world.

We restore dignity to the human spirit by soothing pain with compassion. This is how we affect the external world.

We are hobbled by our own sorrow, giving others the beautiful opportunity to shine brightly as they reach to help us. This is how we affect the external world.

We remain strong while the storm beats upon our shutters, sheltering those inside who we would die to protect. This is how we affect the external world.

We stumble until we fill the shoes we’ve chosen to wear, only to give the shoes away to someone who needs them once we’ve grown into a new pair. This is how we affect the external world.

We recoil in fear so that others may teach us faith. This is how we affect the external world.

We love, and we are loved. This is how we affect the external world.

…Notice how vital to the world are all the aforementioned attributes. Now, notice how the external world does not acknowledge any of the aforementioned attributes as ear-markers for “success”. We are sent a message from an early age that the most vital portions in life mean nothing in terms of “who we are”. Yet outside of the illusion of “success”– who we are is what we are. The person who exhibits loyalty to another when all others betray them for appearances is then known as a loyal person. This loyal person is hired on and maintained as an employee for a long time, endowed with raises and company trusts. This person is successful because they identify as loyal, not as an Executive Vice President.

If we are exhibiting our greatest attributes into the world, WHO we are will then become WHAT we are. Landing the job that gives us joy will follow our attempts to first bring joy into the world. To be successful, we must bring our gifts into the world for no other reason than… we can’t stop the avalanche of being who we are. Any endeavor that we embark upon which is designed solely to “get us to the next level” without being accompanied by a genuine joy to be on that particular path — will not net the desired result. Yes, certainly, it will net a result. But attempting to manipulate fate by circumventing our Design in order to more quickly achieve our Desires will inevitably produce a frustrating lack of all we wish to achieve.

We can’t fool Mother Nature.

We can, however, fool ourselves, and we do so frequently. We tell ourselves that we will never get what we want because it’s a pipe dream. We tell ourselves that the desires of our heart are ridiculous, so we’d better just suck it up and “get realistic” (this is code for “You better be the one to disappoint yourself by letting go of your dreams, so you can be in control of the pain and not be blindsided by someone else turning you down.”) As adults, we professionally pander after the approval of others worse than teenage girls at cheerleader try-outs, all in desperation we’ll be “passed over” when it comes time to receive accolades and advancement. We do everything for the wrong reasons – to get ahead, to get noticed, to get more money, to get, get, get. We take out of the world without putting into it because we buy into the myth that we must “take” what is ours, instead of recognizing that what is not ours was never meant to be ours, and what is ours – no one can ever take away.

We are designed to operate on a spiritual system while navigating through a physical environment. Yet that concept seems to fly clear over the heads of many, so instead, we attempt to operate on a physical system while navigating through a physical environment, and we end up feeling empty, abandoned, and alone. The truth is that we were the ones extricating ourselves from our Parent Creator’s Design while attempting to become Marketing Director of the Year.  No one forced us to do that – but us.

This isn’t to suggest that we all shouldn’t have professional goals. All goals,especially professional, are fantastic. We simply must make sure that we are going after our goals for the right reasons – achieving the goals because they are WHO we are, not because they will miraculously “make us” into what we wish we were. It doesn’t happen like that. If we attempt to achieve a goal not because we have a burning drive to achieve it, but because we feel by achieving the goal we will be elevated in some way – when the goal is nothing more than a means to an end — then we are not reaching from our own gifts. We are reaching for gifts we feel we lack. When we reach from a place of lacking, we receive lacking in return. We cannot achieve what we do not possess. However, if we have a burning desire in our spirit to achieve something and we must go through several steps to achieve that desire, that’s a different story. If we feel there is achievement in each segment of our journey, then we experience success with each step along the way.

Ego would attempt to convince us that the “steps” we would take in growth are unnecessary. Ego drives a person to covetousness once in the realm of “success”. Ego will walk us right past the place of gratitude for all we’ve achieved and right into an obsessive need for more, more, more. The latter is based upon a fear that the person will never have more than what they’ve achieved in that moment. It’s an illusion created by the fear that our “new identity” will not be able to be maintained unless it continues to be “more fabulous” or “more successful”. We step outside of bringing our Design into the world and begin competing with that same world for more than our share because we fear the loss of our “share”. In other words, we don’t have faith that WE were ever enough to achieve the success in the first place. Even in the face of our triumphs, we are in a perpetual state of fear – afraid we’ll lose everything.

Working in entertainment, I witness all sorts of interesting and terrifying transformations in people when they are suddenly faced with “success”.  Let me tell you – not everyone can handle the success brought on by fame. I’m not talking stage fright and I’m not talking “fear of success” (which is actually a fear of maintaining the responsibilities that success brings, and that’s a whole ‘nuther blog.) I’m not talking about the folks who numb themselves with drugs and alcohol like poor Lindsay Lohan, who is inundated with more sadness than any one person should be, at any given moment. I’m talking about the dichotomy of the people who swear up and down that they’d never “change” if they ever “hit it big”. Watch out for false humility. It masks a person who is attempting to convince themselves, because they know good and well that if “success” ever came a-knockin’, they would become its harlot. I’ve watched people change from a truly altruistic person, whose path was to assist themselves and others, to someone who would throw anyone under the bus to elevate themselves in the eyes of others once they were in the position to do so. I’ve watched “success” bring out the ugliest, most selfish, most entitled parts of people once they finally were in a position to be revered. Instead of becoming the inspiration — they became the tyrant. They justify these actions as finally being able to claim what is “theirs”.

Sadly, if the individual was humble and giving on the way up, only to turn around and become an egomaniac “taker” once arrived – the Universe will cease the opportunities that brought the person to that point. Why? Because the moment we claim our identity as “what” we are, we put the Universe’s best plans for us on hold, as we are not “who” we are, to receive them.

I’ve known many successful people who were lovely and giving before their success, as well as afterwards. And guess what? Surprise — they’re still successful. “Success” is achieved when our internal needs, desires and dreams are brought into the world. If we are taking measures to meet our spiritual and emotional needs, it is likely that these measures will have a positive impact on others. Think of the old “Field of Dreams” analogy: If you build it, they will come. It’s very, very true. We must “do” in this world what we feel we are here to do, and put aside our ideas of material “success” in relation to whether we decide to do it or not. We must begin to see our true successes, the successes that are meant for us, for exactly who we are – and exactly what they are. If we are incapable or unwilling to acknowledge our successes as they are presented to us, we limit the Universe’s ability to bring us our true bounty. If we only quantify success as three homes, six cars and a six figure job, then the loving marriage of 20 years, the two well-adjusted children, the full savings account and the mortgage that is not in the rears is ignored. All four of those achievements are great successes in today’s socio-spiritual climate. Yet we tend to ignore our true successes for shallow Ego-reflecting pursuits that we feel shine brighter, so we will believe we are brighter.

Ego fills in where self-confidence is missing. A confident person does not need the lauding of others, though sure – positive props are always appreciated. Yet positive comments are different from hero worship, and many believe that without the worship, there is no success. Our version of “success” in Western Culture is a Frankenstein mess made up from the spare parts of avarous, greed, and entitlement. Success was not designed to be so ugly.

As adults, it’s time we cease in acting like children who have been raised in a war-torn world, scavenging under rocks for the least little crumb in terms of “success”. We are neither desperate nor wanting, and we’d realize this if we’d simply come out of the illusion of “success”, created by the worship of the Almighty Dollar. We have so much success awaiting us, on any given day, and all we need to do to achieve our design is to BE our design, everyday. A common battle cry I hear in the Spiritual Field is that of people who claim they are “not allowed” to be themselves in the world. No one can ever force us not to be ourselves. We choose not to be ourselves for a variety of reasons. Yet to assign away the power of being who we are and then claim victim status is not accurate. Only we choose who we are in this world. This may be a difficult concept for some to accept, but it is indeed the truth. The sooner we realize that it is we who keep us captive, not “the man at work” or “society”, the sooner we are able to liberate our spirits and bring our joy into the world.

We can have a decent job, and we can pursue our dreams. They do not always have to be one and the same. Success in life cannot be judged by financial gain, though financial gain is often a bi-product of success. The worship of the Dollar has resulted in the lumping of “success”, “status”, and “financial accrual” into the same pile. Yet one does not actually have to do with the other. Mother Teresa is an excellent example of this. I’ve known many people who have a decent paying job that does not define them, yet then have a side project that does – baking, music, crocheting, fishing. As bakers, musicians, needle workers and fishermen, these people are wildly successful, baking the best Red Velvet Cake ever, creating the best independent CD in my player, crocheting blankets children use every night, and putting trout in the freezer to enjoy all year. Their gifts are successful in edifying themselves and others all year round. If they were forced to quantify their gifts — or success – solely on a financial basis, they would be considered “professional failures”.

Our system of assigning value to what is important – is broken.

Our desires originate from our heart, yet if we become our desires and leave behind our heart, the foundations of our very endeavors are built upon the sands of illusion. We have the opportunity to marry our Design with our Desires if we keep our intention pure in our pursuit of both, and we stay out of fear in bringing them both into the world. If we are capable of doing this, we can honestly say that who we are is what we are. If we step past the purity of honoring our Design and instead step into Ego, which needs to be fed a whole separate diet that has nothing to do with our life path, our opportunities will fade as we teach ourselves who we really are by learning the hard way – who we are not.

If you build it, they will come. Unless, of course, you only built it to look impressive on your way up, in which case – a whole lot of money was just spent on a staircase to nowhere.

Tin Foil Hats: Feel Good Fashion for 2012

There just may be something to this whole “wrapping one’s noodle in foil” regimen after all. Maybe that guy living under the over-pass was right: They can hear our thoughts. Or, can they?

Either way, something’s afoot in Denmark. And The Russian Republic, and Canada, and the UK and the United States, and countless other countries. And, it’s causing millions of people to be wrought with depression and illness. It’s time someone speak up about what’s flying through the ethers — not to cause some sort of George Orwell riot, but because there is actually something we can do about it.

I’ve noticed a resounding difference in the ethers the past seven months. I’ve identified the energy signatures of these changes as additional geothermal pressure being released by the earth’s crust while plates continue to move. I’ve also identified these changes as a heightened EMF field due to some extremely large and low-hanging inter-dimensional OffWorld craft belonging to a very helpful ET race who is attempting to help us with these moving plates. Yet there has also been another presence in the ethers, a presence that took a little more “decoding” in my energetic sweep in order to identify.

And I can’t say I’m too happy about my findings.

I’ve long-insisted that I fare better in areas where nature is more prevalent. I would call it the “nature vibe”. I always figured my attraction to natural areas was largely in part due to the fact that I was born in Montana. Also, as a person with as many sixth sense aptitudes as I have online at any one given moment, I prefer to be around less people in my off time. Don’t get me wrong — I love people, a whole lot. I’m Italian, so I’m inherently social. It’s just that I don’t always love all the energetic struggles that come with people. When you’re wired like I’m wired, being around a never-ending stream of people is like being in a 12 x 12 room with one thousand sprinklers. You’re going to get wet.

All those reasons being stated, I’ve always attested to the fact that the earth had a resonance that was pleasing to my spirit. I prefer the pulse of the trees over the echoing resonance of concrete. I’ve recently found out that this same “earthly heartbeat” I am so attracted to has a name – the Schumann Resonance. Indeed, this detectable “pulse” to the planet comes from our Ionosphere and is readable at 7.83 Hertz. Now keep in mind, this isn’t a “tone” or “sound”, but a “pulse” – more like a drum beat. So my obsession with the “pulse” of the earth was not simply my Montana bias. Shocking, but refreshingly true.

It turns out that the Schumann Resonance is also the same wavelength that is the most pleasing for the human brain. What does that even mean and why would that matter? Well, there are two naturally occurring electrical generators on earth: Lightning, and the human brain. Our brains are giant electrical nets that are highly susceptible to EMF (Electro Magnetic Fields) and they act as both a transmitter and a receiver, like a radio tower. This is one of the reasons that Psychic phenomenon and telepathy can be “turned on” in an individual if there is evidence of a head injury. Though the aptitudes themselves are spiritual, we live in a flesh suit, and all of our hardware for processing thought is physical. A “thought” is an electrical spark between two synapses. To watch a human brain function under a scan is like watching fireflies blink on and off amidst a sea of tiny firecrackers. Our thoughts are electrical arcs beings conducted by a sea of salt water and chemicals in our brain. Our brain waves are the “pulse” at which our brain decides to process information.

Brainwaves are our “drummer” to which we march. They are a pulse. For musicians, brain waves are like a MIDI clock, or a metronome. For those who go to the gym, brain waves are like the pace set by the treadmill. They keep us on track.

For instance, if we hit the Gamma brain wave cycle – the fastest pulse at 30-60Hz – we’re in for a bumpy ride with muscle tension, health issues, and fear brought on by a hyper awareness. This is not a good space for folks to hang out. For those who suffer with manic illnesses, they know the Gamma cycle’s discomfort all too well. For most of us, this is where our brain goes when we’re overly-stressed. It’s not a happy place.

Most of our day is spent in Beta brain waves, which is at 14-30 Hz. The Beta wave cycle is our ability to cope with the outer world —  our awareness, daily action, verbal communication, and it’s where we tune in to solve complex problems. This is our nine-to-five setting.

Alpha brain waves pulse at 9-13 Hz and create our “Daydream” zone. This is a calm mental space — relaxed — where meditation will occur. It’s referred to as the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious mind. Alpha brain waves have to do with processing who we are on the inside, not the outside.

Theta brain waves pulse at 4-8 Hz and it is in this cycle where we connect with our Psychic abilities, deep meditation, spiritual awareness, inner peace, healing, inspiration, and intuition. There is a reason that the saying “slow down your mind” is literally – a good idea. I spend a vast amount of my day in the Theta cycle, and it makes sense that I feel better after I’ve read for my clients. My brain waves are sitting in a spot that is maximized for mental, spiritual, and Psychic health.

The Earth’s Pulse, The Schumann Resonance, sits at 7.83 Hz, which falls in the Theta brain wave cycle. The Earth’s natural heartbeat inspires us to connect to our spiritual and Psychic selves, and to heal. It is the “happy place” in which human brain waves oscillate. Once the human brain wave pattern settles into 7.83 Hz, it’s been scientifically proven that our immune systems function much more effectively, as does our physical regeneration. We sleep better and our cells regenerate faster, so aging isn’t as intense.

If our brain waves slow down to 0.1-4 Hz, we are in the Delta cycle, which is our point of deepest relaxation. Sleep takes place in the Delta wave area as does the most intense healing. Delta waves are what connect us with our subconscious.

Many brain wave cycles are associated specifically with biological functions. For instance, brain waves at 10Hz inspire the production of serotonin which creates a natural euphoria, or high. If our brain waves lock into a 6 Hz cycle for an extended length of time, the result is depression, cellular degradation, and a weakend immune system, even though technically, 6 Hz is within the Theta Wave zone.

Brain waves operate in the ELF (Extremely Low frequency) field. Our brains not only originate a transmission signal, or brain wave cycle, but they are susceptible to a more dominant signal on the outside of our skulls, like a radio tower picking up a stronger signal from 50 miles away. If our brain picks up this signal, it will alter its own brain wave pattern to match the stronger incoming signal.

This is where I began to feel unhappy with my findings as I was plucking information from the ethers.

It appears that the military uses VLF signals (Very Low Frequency) that travel through not only the ground but bounce off the ionosphere. These VLF signals are utilized in order to set clocks and encrypt data. And to which frequency does this signal happen to be tuned? Well, more often than not – 6 Hz, the same bandwidth that causes lethargy, depression, and physical ailments in the human biosystem such as autism.

Yeah, that station’s a real winner on the dial.

I thought to myself: Surely, this choice on the part of the military to send such a destructive signal all over the place must be a strange coincidence, since ELF fields of 6.67 Hz to 6.26 Hz and lower tend to produce symptoms of confusion, anxiety, depression, tension, fear, mild nausea and headaches, arthritic-like aches, insomnia, extended reaction times, and many other thought-interrupting and vegetative disturbances.

It must be purely coincidental that these military VLF frequencies are being broadcast full-blast during this era of outrageous pharmaceutical TV ads for every anti-depressant, sleep aid, sexual enhancers, outrageous spike in autism diagnosis, and arthritis medicine…right?

Wrong.

Once I started peeling this onion, I was both fascinated and horrified by the results.

It appears that human brainwave manipulation is old news. It dates back to Nazi Germany. The psychoactive effect of brain wave manipulation is still used today. As Robert C. beck wrote in 1978:

“And by artificially amplifying or altering or distorting these geomagnetic fields, or transmitting specific and coherent frequencies, vast segments of earth’s populations could be affected. This now becomes an attractive modality of psychological or psionic warfare; or intentional modification of moods that could reflect in areas ranging from time-specific insomnia to stock market fluctuations. (There have been recent epidemics of 4:00 to 5:30 AM “worry”, insomnia coinciding with the 9 Hz “Schumann” drop-out as observed in journals of geomagnetic research.)

On several occasions within the last few years, our laboratory began detecting wavetrains in the ELF ranges that could not be of natural origin. These may or may not be related to recent Soviet transmissions of radio energy spread over broad segments of the frequency spectrum ranging up to 28 MHz. Danish monitoring stations report that peak powers of these signals are on the order of 40 megawatts. Transmitters are presumably located near Riga or Gomel. Transmissions have disrupted lawful radio communications throughout the world, and have been protested by many nations. The Soviets have not given an adequate explanation of the purpose of these tests. An early supposition assumed Soviet experiments with over-the horizon radar. Perhaps the psychoactive EM components are unexpected side-effects of this new technology.

Canadian Department of Transport monitoring sources have established that spectrum analysis of these strange signals appear to be higher harmonics of a fundamental frequency of 6.67 Hz. (The Tesla fo) . The signals are modulated with pulses with repetition rates of 5 to 15 pulses per second, usually 10 Hz.

Besides modifying the electrical, ionic, and stratospheric jet stream equilibrium weather-motion factors, the signals fall precisely within the windows known to be psychoactive.

The Canadians report alarming mood-alterations in certain areas of Eastern Canada, such as near Timmins and Kirkland Lake, Ontario, which observers believe are linked to Soviet transmissions.

Since both theory and laboratory tests prove that magnetic (H-wave) shielding is impossible at these psycho-active frequencies, even with highly sophisticated multiple iron or mu-metal shielding, it can be speculated that ELF signals can be a powerful potential weapon with global capabilities in psycho-physiological warfare. (The wavelength of an 8 Hz signal is 22,159 miles).”

I myself have noticed that I’ve had bouts of “worries” at 5:00 am, for no apparent reason other than a change in the ethers. I couldn’t energetically locate geothermal disturbances, which can also cause anxiety, and my OffWorld friends were above our atmosphere, so I wasn’t picking up EMF brain wave interruption from their gigantic low-hanging craft. Yet I was picking up a very distinct frequency that was identifiable as being outside my head.

Yep. Nothing creepy about that.

Am I ready to stand on a soapbox in the middle of Times Square and declare that the United States Government is exerting mood-suppressing mind control over its population via ELF wave manipulation? Well, I wouldn’t say they do it all the time. But I would say that they do it, along with many other prominent world governments who I’m also seeing participate. Once I identified this trouble-causing energetic pulse I was plucking out of the ethers as a methodically oscillating wave pattern, I began researching. It appears that the USA is well acquainted with the entire brain wave issue. I was a touch taken back by how aware the Powers That Be actually are with regard to brainwave technology. It’s a little sci-fi once you get into it, and almost seems too bizarre to be true. Yet, as someone who picks up and decodes energetic signals, I can tell you: Someone is meaning to beam the population with psychoactive frequencies. And I don’t think it’s the ghost of Dick Clark or Jim Morrison.

How can we attempt to re-connect with the earth’s natural 7.83 Hz Schumann Resonance if we are “accidently” (whatever) being bombarded with 6 Hz waves? This I found was an easy fix – just grab a pair of earphones and listen online to one of a number of MANY providers who supply 7.83 Hz recordings. A 7.83 Hz pulse, right in your ear, will then become the most dominant wave, or “drummer”, for your brain to follow, and your brain will naturally rise up from the periodic external 6 Hz pulse it’s receiving to the much more healthy and natural Schumann Resonance. And it’s not like you need to walk around day and night wearing the earbuds in order to “keep the bad frequency out”. In fact, frequency shielding against VLF waves is nearly impossible because they are so low and can pass through very dense matter. (Think of a booming sub-woofer in the trunk of a teenager’s car that wakes you at 3 am from eight blocks away.) However, our brain is designed to operate at 7.83 Hz, in harmony with the earth. Once our brain is on track, it will stay there for quite some time. If you feel your mood slipping, pop in those earbuds for about ten minutes and just like a hot air balloon being hit with a flame – your mood will lift into the ethers.

I’ve found two terrific free YouTube sites for the Schumann Resonance. One contains the 7.83 Hz pulse mixed in with nature sounds, and the other masks the pulse in music. It’s common to feel a touch disoriented at first when listening to the tracks while your brain waves “lock on” to the resonance. Yet once into listening, you’ll note a euphoria that takes over, and it seems that all the days’ troubles are released as we are “re-set”.  It usually takes no more than ten minutes. Even five minutes of listening will re-set our brain wave cycle.

Our brain’s natural ability to lock onto the earth’s 7.83 Hz pulse can be inhibited by everyday external factors as well, such as living in large metropolitan areas where we are bombarded with electrical grids and other EMF disturbances. So even if you don’t feel as though you’ve been “down” or “blue”, those living in a highly populated area would benefit from listening to a track containing the Schumann Resonance. It will inspire better sleep, greater cellular regeneration, greater health, and a better outlook.

This blog is not an attempt to make anyone paranoid. It’s an attempt to educate everyone on how we physically function, as biological and spiritual creatures. The more we know, the more we can take care of our whole self.

We are creatures who are, quite literally, electrically hardwired to respond to the pulse of this planet, and “something” is attempting to cut us off from our point of origin that allows us to remain healthy and strong. The great irony here is that it doesn’t matter how many watts of 6 Hz “someone” pumps through the atmosphere — when we listen directly to a 7.83 Hz pulse, we automatically tune to it no matter what’s floating around in the air. Billions of dollars have been spent on extremely expensive VLF antennae and high-powered transmitters, all across the nation, and thanks to our brain’s natural default setting, a $15.00 set of earbuds will foil a billion dollar grid.

I don’t know about you, but I love that part. No one can stop the human spirit from finding it’s birth point — billions of dollars, or not.

I truly wish I could report to day that these “depressive” frequencies flying through the ground and through the air are strictly a “bad psychoactive accident” by our military. Yet upon taking out the Psychic spyglass, that does not appear to be the case. Do I blame our hard-working service people in the military for this VLF network across the nation? Absolutely not. The decision to choose the 6 Hz signal as the primary VLF channel oscillation (though any low frequency could be utilized) appears to be way above their pay grade. Worse, this tactical decision is not limited to our nation alone. It appears to be a global governmental phenomenon.

Time to bust out the earbuds and spend a little more time in the wilderness, people.

Also, it’s important to note that VLF waves travel up to 500 feet in the air. They hug the ground. So the higher up you go, the less apt you are to run into this nasty 6 Hz frequency bandwidth. Now, keep in mind this measurement is 500 “relative feet”, not “sea level” feet. So if you go to the mountains, the VLF waves will cut through the base of the mountains but not exceed 500 feet above the ground below. This also explains why I always feel so “clear” while high up in the Rockies, in my home state of Montana. Heck, I even feel better once I’m up the hills in Burbank, here in California. One can literally feel themselves crossing out of  “the din” below. It’s rather extraordinary.

There is much more that I uncovered when looking into the use of resonances. The United States Government has technology that is able to “map” the electrical current of an individual, like a fingerprint, using Satellite imaging technology. This makes perfect sense to me, as I use the same “internalized energetic mapping system” when I Psychically seek missing persons. I don’t know why I get the heebie jeebies when picturing a Satellite being able to track me like a tagged sea turtle simply from my unique pulse and electrical frequency, considering that’s what I do when “Psychically” searching for others. I suppose that’s a bit hypocritical of me. Yet when I’m doing it, I’m typically attempting to find someone who is lost. I’m not sure what the Satellite’s big agenda would be. Maybe they can help me find my car when I’ve parked at WalMart?

We are delicate and fascinating creatures, all so incredibly interwoven with not only one another, but with the planet on which we dwell. We cannot be extricated from either. Attempts to separate ourselves from one another are futile and often physically painful. Our brains act as transmitters and receivers. This very portion of Spiritual Physics is what the Law of Attraction is based upon. “The Secret” wouldn’t be a secret without brain waves. I work a great deal with frequencies in the sound science end of my life, or music, so I particularly understand the effects that frequencies have not only on the human psyche, but the brain’s ability to create the healthy chemicals that we require in order to live our lives to the fullest.

There will be many interesting changes in our social and spiritual culture over the next several years and it’s important to be aware of how to keep ourselves healthy through these changes. Maintaining a positive connection to the pulse of nature will dramatically enhance our mental and physical constitution. It’s how we are designed. No amount of broadcast this-or-that’s will ever change that fact.

And hey, if all this wacky frequency stuff gets a little too X-Files, then there’s always Reynolds Wrap. I hear the heavy duty barbecue foil makes a good “brain-probing” impossible while creating a lid that would make the Royal Family jealous.

Your Path and Your Purpose: Searching for Signs

None of us like to be micromanaged. Well, there are those people that do, but that’s for another type of blog run by a competent Dominatrix.  Yet a majority of people who seek spiritual and Psychic counsel are not looking for advisement, which is the job of anyone reputable who works in this field, but for a clear black and white road map – instructions on how to live their own lives. What one man calls “micromanagement”, another deems an “excellent Psychic reading”. However, those of us with these gifts and abilities are not here to dictate the “only outcome” of an individual’s life. We are here to assist in reading parts of the road map that may be illegible to others. Our job is to provide the client with all the information possible, so that the CLIENT may chart their own course, deciding their own outcome.  As humans, we crave independence and freedom. Yet you’d be amazed at how resentful many clients become when turned loose with their own choice making.

One of the most common questions I am asked while reading for clients is what I like to call the “Million Dollar Question”: What is my purpose?

That is usually followed by “Why can’t I find my path?”

These are not questions for the faint of heart, either to be asked, or to ask. To ask a question means that one has placed themselves in a position to receive an answer. And we don’t always like the answers we receive. I’ve found an interesting trait in Humanity that seems to be universal, across cultures, races, genders, and creeds. The trait is a tendency to want to do the same thing, over and over again – and expect different results. Albert Einstein actually labeled this behavior as the “definition of insanity”. He’s a pretty smart guy.

Humans can’t stand change. Well, that’s not exactly true. Humans LOVE change, which is why there are fifty billion types of retail items manufactured in China. In fact, it’s not change that humans fear, but feeling out of control. When Life asks us to change a behavior, we don’t want to. We are familiar with the predictable old patterns, and we don’t want to feel the butterflies in the bottom of our tummy when faced with the “unknown” pattern we’ve yet to embark upon. No matter how dysfunctional, a Human Being will tend to stay in a rotten situation simply because at least it’s the Devil they know. Though we are the most adaptable species on the planet — we sell ourselves short due to fear, time and time again. Yet we’re the first ones to blame everyone else for why we aren’t “where we’d like to be” in our life.

Because of this fear that we Humans have subscribed to so vehemently, we also don’t like to be challenged. Our low ego can captain our ship like no one’s business, deciding that any new idea is a “threat to the realm” – even though the “realm” is miserable. The bottom line is that no matter how much we ask for help – we don’t like our “Big Fat Plan” to be messed with. It doesn’t matter how predictable the plan is, and it doesn’t even matter that the Big Fat Plan isn’t working. For Humanity, what matters is that the low ego feels like it has a CEO’s stake in our life’s direction. There’s only one problem with that: Ego can’t see anything but itself, so it’s going to make a pretty lousy scout when it’s incapable of raising it’s eyes to the horizon, as it’s too fascinated by watching it’s own shoes.

The fact is, the Universe tries to act as our scout everyday, but we’re just not interested. We’re too busy listening to Captain Low Ego prattle on and on about where we are on the path – according to Ego’s shoes, of course. “Hey, you’re by a weed now! Look at that rock! Wow, that’s a grasshopper!”

Ego has no idea how to chart a course. It’s too busy sounding off just to hear itself talk while reminding itself that it’s in charge and in the room.

“Are you following me? Did you see how I stepped over that stick on the path? Hey, look, an agate!”

Yep. When charting a new life path — that’s life changing information all right.

The Universe is not interested at all in the details of the path. The details are there for our enjoyment and our personal and individual learning curves. The Universe is interested in our direction. Yet we’re so busy following around a demented trail guide who is working hard to convince us that we don’t need direction but instead, we need them, them, them — just like some washed-up Hollywood agent trying to cling to their job – that we are unable to accept the importance of direction over details.

The “details” of one’s life path can vary widely from one moment to the next, depending on what action a person chooses to take. So when a client asks me to give them “details” about their path, their angels come back to me with direction. When I attempt to convey the direction in which to head, in order to achieve the desired results, here comes Captain Low Ego, shoving the unsuspecting client out of the way to scream back in my face, “But I need details!”

Of course you do, Captain Low Ego. Because without the details, you can’t keep your host captive to minutia and you’ll lose them to their greatest purpose.

“But you don’t understand! How am I going to know where I’m going without the DETAILS?”

Well, Captain Low Ego, I hate to be the bummer, here – but this isn’t about you. It isn’t about how you feel, or how you’re affected. It’s about what’s best for the person.

“But I AM the person!”

No, you’re not. You’ve just convinced them to drink the Kool-Aid because you’re walking point on the path, and you won’t shut up about your stupid shoes, so they’ve just given up arguing with you.

“You’re not very spiritual.”

I’m very spiritual. I’m just not an enabler, and I’m not here to make you feel better. I’m here for the person. So please step aside, and allow us to have a conversation.  

…thus is the dynamic of breaking through Ego when working with certain clients in order to deliver to them the amazing information regarding their direction, which is the first step in helping them change their life. Ego does not want us to make changes because then we will have results, and no need for all the bravado that Ego passes off as “knowledge”.  When we come out of relationship with Low Ego, and go into relationship with Faith, we no longer crave “details”, because the details are then handled by our incredibly competent personal secretary – The Universe. I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather have a host of Angels, Guides, and even the Spirit of God handling everything that’s out of my control.

Ironically, many people balk at this idea. Welcome to people.

The direction that we are to travel holds the key to unlocking many details on the journey. But we must embark upon the direction first. The details come later. They are secondary in the pecking order of importance, and seeing as that Human Beings are distracted by all things shiny – too many details means too many lost Humans along the roadside. And that’s just messy clean-up in aisle nine for Angels and Guides everywhere.

Our Angels are here to make sure that we are steered in the most optimum direction for our success, not only in this lifetime, but our success in other people’s lessons, timelines, and journeys. (Though this is a mind-boggler for most – our own lives aren’t actually all about us.) The job of an Angel, in respect to Humanity, is a cross-breed of herding cats and Traffic Cop, but across dimensions, probabilities, and space-time. Work in the Angelic realm is much more like watching Touch than Touched By and Angel. We are all part of an inter-connected webbing that is affected no matter which side is pulled. What we perceive as “nothing happening” in our own life is often a pause the Universe has created so that something else in the webbing can occur – sort of like a red traffic light allowing the side street traffic to flow with the green light. If there were no traffic lights, all we’d have is accidents.

Yet we Humans resent red lights, even when they are for our own safety.

We must come out of the limited viewpoint of Low Ego – that of only staring at our shoes as we walk along the path – and raise our chin to look upon the horizon, facing our direction. Once surveying all that is in front of us, we are able to see the busy streets, the usefulness of the traffic lights, and the efficient flow of all things as directed by the Universe. We begin to understand that we are a moving cell in a larger body, and we begin to see the value of the health of the larger body and our part in this health. We begin to comprehend that not only is our path important to us, but it is important to those that we’ve yet to meet. And more than anything, we realize how ineffectual our Big Fat Plan actually is once there are so many other billions of moving pieces in the machine.

This is not to say that we shouldn’t have goals or plans. It’s to say that we should not treat these goals and plans like the anointed hand of God, when in fact, they are our best translation of only a very limited portion of the game board. We must be open to The Universe’s influence in our Big Fat Plan, because though we can see fairly well straight in front of us – Universe can see around all the corners. Sometimes a halt in one’s forward progression is the Universe applying the breaks before our train runs head-on into another who has managed to travel straight toward us, on our same track.

Creator is the air traffic control of all things. If we were to take over the tower at LAX as a passenger on the plane simply because we wished to land sooner, we would be responsible for the deaths of thousands of people on flights that we were unaware were even arriving. We must accept that in life, no matter how competent and fabulous and strong and calculated that we perceive ourselves to be – we are a passenger on a larger vessel, traveling at a velocity that is lethal for those to operate who simply do not have the skill.

Though we are majestic creations in the eyes of the Parent Creator who made us – we are not God. And we are never going to be, no matter how many times we watch The Secret.

The only thing that we truly have control over in this dimension is how we choose to act: Which opportunities we do or don’t choose to act upon, which feelings we choose to accept or not to accept, which lessons we choose to participate with or to let go. All things Free Will are fair game. Yet all things flow, and pace, and timing – are the Universe’s jurisdiction. As my dear friend and colleague, Healer Terri Williams, would say: “The ‘what’ is up to you. The ‘how’ and ‘when’s’ are up to the Universe.”

So how do we chart our course, make our mark, find our highest potential, and find our purpose and path, when so much of this incarnation is out of our control? Well it’s simple — we accept the fact that our highest design, purpose and path have nothing to do with control at all, but with sinking into the greater flow while doing what we love. Think fishing while on a floating raft. We’re not in control of the current, yet the raft is moving as we are casting along the banks. We are busy with the act of fishing — baiting our hook and tossing our lines. Yet we are not in control of where the fish may lie beneath the water, or how quickly the current is moving us along. While we are on the raft, in the sun, we are excited at the thought of the potential in every cast of the pole. We are not feeling “cheated” by the river as it “controls” our direction. We are not feeling “undermined” by the invisibility of the fish in the water. None of that is even a factor, as our PURPOSE – “to fish” — is executed with utter joy brought on by nothing more than the act of fishing itself.

So should we approach our life and the pursuits that we feel are in our highest design. Many people start a small business because they have a passion for the product or service, so they sell flowers, or knitting supplies, or pizza. Yet once they get into the “brass tacks” of the business end, the joy of why they got into the pursuit in the first place is eclipsed by the “reality” of owning a business.

At least, that‘s what we tell ourselves.

The reality is that our Low Ego takes over and runs off our Soul’s joy by inserting it’s own demands. We are suddenly no longer happy that we opened a knitting business whose goal was to provide the best hand-spun and hand-dyed yarns. We now must be the best knitting business in town, it the county, in the world. We must make a million dollars knitting, and we must be known as the greatest textile artist to ever have lived. We become obsessed with numbers in the ledgers rather than the smiles on our customer’s faces. We count the cars in the parking lot and worry that more people are traveling to a large commercial retail chain, and we begin to covet those customer numbers. We look at the price tags on our precious hand made imported yarn and we’re sure that we’re being undermined by the dollar or two more each costs. So, we stop ordering the hand-spun yarns from Ireland, hand-dyed from herbs and flowers, and we begin ordering polyester threads from Indonesia at a dime on the dollar, to offer the same slashed prices as the retail chain in our hopes to up our customer numbers. Soon, we can’t afford to make the rent, because we can’t sell enough cheaper product at the cheaper price – because we don’t have the traffic of the large retail chain, all because we can’t afford the advertising. We close our doors as our knitting business goes bankrupt. We shake our fist at the heavens and curse God. Now that we have blown through our life savings, we sit crestfallen that the Universe has forsaken us. We tell ourselves that Life has spit in our face, when all we’ve done is “try”. We convince ourselves “that’s what we get” for sticking our neck out there, in this economy.

What a punch of self-pitying garbage.

How about holding ourselves accountable for our choices? The truth is, had we not fallen into Low Ego, and simply stuck with what gave us joy – providing the best hand-spun and hand-dyed yarns in town – we’d still have a steady and grateful clientele, we’d be able to pay the rent, and we’d be able to continue to do what gives us joy. It was our covetous greed, not God, that broke the bank.

Sometimes our Big Fat Plan appears to go backwards. We spend years improving ourselves and our situation, only to have “everything” ripped from us in one economic blow. But again, we must remember that with Life Path Direction, the shortest distance between two points is not nearly as important as the most accurate distance between two points, and the latter is often a longer path. Quality, not speed, is the name of the game when dealing with fulfilling one’s  “destiny”, or more accurately, one’s purpose. Humanity craves relevance. We must feel as though we make a difference. Past our own Low Ego, we are subconsciously aware that we are not “singular” beings who just need to cover our one bottom line. We know, deep down, that our greatest feeling of relevance comes from affecting the whole body.

For as much as we crave singular notoriety, we shut down completely if we are isolated from the whole.  We are at our best when we are in acts of service to another. However, getting someone to set aside the time to really be able to execute the act of service is a different story, considering managing one’s own life can be rather time consuming. Connecting people with the fulfillment that comes through executing acts of service can be so complicated that the Universe itself will step forward and insert it’s own traffic light, to create a flow that will force us down a path that will result in our discovering parts of ourselves we normally wouldn’t even know existed.

For as much as we see ourselves as the master of our own destiny – Humanity craves direction. And we often require direction when the focus is not meant to be on us. After all, we are trained that we must “look out for number 1”. At least according to the 1970’s.

Sometimes, we’re asked to shine brightly for those who need to be shown hope, and in order to do that, we must take a few steps backward to a place in our life that we’ve already worked through. It doesn’t mean that Universe is punishing us, or that we haven’t moved forward. It means we’ve moved forward so much, we can then serve as an incredible example to others of what’s possible.

It’s a fearful trick of our good ol’ fashioned human pride that twists up the Universe’s attempt at putting us into play as an amazing transformative tool for others. In 2004, when my nationally famous band ran its course after an 8 year run, and no more labels were interested in carrying us, and all the marquis with our name in lights went out, and all the tours with Joan Jett and Ann and Nancy Wilson stopped — I went invisible to the music community. I didn’t know what to do with myself, and so I had to get a day job. I treated this notion like a dirty word that represented failure. I hadn’t had a day job in years, and I felt like I was not only going backwards, but I felt like a complete loser. And, as one can imagine, I was pretty pouty about it. I was furious that I had worked so hard for 15 years, just to have it all fall apart. Here I was, back to square one, pounding the pavement looking for work after an amazing career in professional entertainment. I had no idea how “God could let that happen”. I applied for this job or for that, yet not only was my attitude not where it should have been, but no one was hiring “ex-rockstars”.

I was so resentful and angry at the Universe that I couldn’t stand it. I had to spend all my time looking for work just as I had done as a youth growing up in Montana. Seeing as that there are only so many hours in the day, I had to give up my music, my producing, my acting, everything that gave me joy — everything that I had built my entire life upon — in order to dedicate the time necessary to finding employment. I had to reach deep into my treasure trove of job skills and dust off aptitudes I felt had nothing to do with who I was, and the deeper I reached, the more angry I became. I had to find something that I could apply for that would be forgiving toward my unusual “job” history.  Finally, after being dismissed by employer after employer, I was hired by someone. Begrudgingly, I showed up to my first day of work —

— as a Psychic reader at a Metaphysical bookstore in Burbank, CA.

Now, eight years later, I can’t imagine living my life without including this beautiful spiritual piece of myself. Yet I would have never allowed any of these gifts to come into the world because I was too busy only living up to a mere portion of my potential according to my Big Fat Plan — that I swore was my entire identity.  At the time, you could never have told me that by having a day job, I would be connected with my higher purpose. I would have been too busy wallowing in self pity while shaking my fist at God for forsaking my knitting business.

Universe knows a thing or two about a thing or two, especially when it comes to our happiness, our design, our direction, and who we are truly meant to be so that we may feel relevant and full of purpose while enriching The Whole. Sometimes the most improbable backward-facing road holds our greatest forward-moving fulfillment. I gave up music and acting and worked as a Psychic in this shop from 2004-2006. And while there, I was directed right back into acting as I was cast on an NBC TV show and had a screenplay optioned — all from clients who came into the store. By steering me into Spiritual Advisement, Universe didn’t punish me by putting a stop to my career. Creator didn’t place me in that job to send me backwards on my life path. Universe had me there to grow me, to show me the fullness of who I really was. In an act of service — helping others connect to the desires of their heart while assisting others to read their roadmaps so that they may better determine their own most fulfilling direction — Universe connected me to my most fulfilling direction.

In 2006 I was cast as a lead in a film, in 2007 I started my own spiritual practice, and in 2008 — I got another record deal that I still have to this day. I didn’t go backwards. I simply needed to take a different path so that I would be placed in the right direction. I emerged forward so much more ignited and inspired than I ever thought possible. I moved on more well rounded and connected to myself, applying ALL of my gifts and talents rather than only the ones visible by my Low Ego.

So when a person asks the Universe “What is my purpose” and “How do I find my path”, one must be prepared for the Universe to employ a couple of approaches:

1)      Switch the tracks, place us on a new course void of details, and send us in a direction with which we are completely unfamiliar.

2)      Require us to become comfortable with the idea that we have no control over the current of the river, but only the fishing pole in our hand.

3)      Send us backward, so that we may move forward.

Or –

4)      All of the above.

Our Path and our Purpose are awaiting our participation. All we must do is be on time to our own send-off. I’d recommend this cocktail to kick off the journey:

White-Washing Tom Sawyer’s Fence: Identifying Illusion

Houston, we have a problem. The Private Sector’s karma may be headed for the toilet.

I’m often up at odd hours, and sometimes to attempt to get to sleep, I peruse Craigslist. For fun, I always check out the casting and talent sections as there are always really interesting listings there. My current favorite is a listing that casts people as a “Zombie” in a “popular” Zombie Apocalypse TV show ($10.00 says it’s “walking Dead” – I love that show!) A person can make anywhere from $180.00 – $380.00 a day, as a Zombie. Of course, you’re under tons of make-up for 16 hours at a stretch, but it’s a hoot, so who cares?

Anyone who knows anything about entertainment will realize that many talent opportunities are unpaid. Actors will work for “copy (of the DVD once it’s finished), credit (in the film at the end), and meals” because they love to act, and they wish to get their art out to the masses. Yet I’ve found an alarming trend throughout the entertainment sector that goes well beyond “copy, credit, and meals”. It was so disturbing that I decided to look on Craigslist at regular “jobs”, in an attempt to see if this trend had spread outside of the “copy, credit, and meals” mentality, and indeed, it had.

I call it the TSWW Phenomenon, or the Tom Sawyer White Wash.

For example, as I scanned “jobs” in entertainment, I came across listing after listing asking for “experienced” screenwriters. Okay. According to these ads, Producers (who are the “employers” in this instance) are wanting people to send in an introductory letter, resume, references, and writing samples. Also, they want all applicants to have experience as a ghostwriter for scripts, reviews, books, proposals, promo ads – basically, they want to make sure that a screenwriter can also be a copywriter – which are not always one in the same. Heck, this is America, right? Employers want to hire one employee who can function as 16 employees. One talented screenwriter could take the place of your whole marketing department, and that’s a REAL bottom-line-saver. Naturally, all employers want the biggest bang for their buck, so they need to make sure that before applying for a job, these screenwriters provide them with a laundry list of above-and-beyond qualifications.

Oh. Except none of these jobs are paid.

You heard that right.

Yep, in America today, you can get hired to do anything you want – as long as you have all the skills of ten people, a sparkling resume head and shoulders above all the rest, and are willing to do it – for free. Just because it’s cool.

You bet, Tom Sawyer — I’ll white wash your fence.

Sound ridiculous? It’s not. I found listing after listing in the entertainment job section alone that pitched for “Producers” who were “making movies”. What did these “film producers” seek? Again, insert the “send me only your best” solicit, and then add on the fact that they needed a camera crew, a script, a make-up person, a lighting department, a marketing department, a casting agent, food services – lol – well, basically, they needed someone to build an entire movie around them (which is their job), instead of having a concept, and seeking out the people they need to build the film. Producers put together movies themselves, not beg people to put it together for them. I know – I’ve produced a movie or two. But someone begging an entire FILM CREW to come work for them, on Craigslist, for free, with promises of working with the “hottest up and coming so and so” — is not a “Producer”. That’s someone who wishes they were, has no idea what they’re doing, and are dangling the carrot of “I’m so wonderful, you should work with me” in front of folks as if there is actually value there.

Now, it’s important to note that a lot of people work on films for free. I’ve done it, and would do it again if I was in love with the project; I’ve had glorious people donate their time to my own documentary film, just as did I. But to have the audacity to list oneself as a “Producer”, and then have NOTHING in line for the film, yet wanting an entire busload of people to arrive and miraculously “build” a job, career, and title around another person  – is beyond bizarre. That would be like someone advertising a job for an “Executive Sales Manager”, but in the ad, the “Employer” asks for an office, a phone line, a list of leads, a lunch budget, a car, a wardrobe, a tax accountant, an HR person, a company logo, a sales staff, and would also like to be listed as “Boss”.

Welcome to what I like to call the “App Mentality” — the action of one person wanting everyone else to come in and build something around them so that the person doesn’t have to lift a finger to earn the position.

The App Mentality is the propensity to live life as if it were a cell phone – as if one could download an app that can solve the world’s problems with the touch of a button – no waiting, trying, or thinking. Instant gratification. The problem with “playing App” in real life is that real people, not an electronic function dumped to your phone, is what completes the job at hand. Yet we’ve become so out of touch with cause and effect in our insty-app world that we forget the reality of putting real jobs together —  things like payroll, and people management. And worse, we’ve forgotten the reality of having to be accountable, and take responsibility for putting these jobs together ourselves.

Just because we ask our iPhone to calls us “Your Highness” – doesn’t mean that we are royalty.

Yet I see reality slipping through society’s fingers with greater speed each year. People are leveraging either this virtual thingy or that in order to crown themselves king or queen of this social network, or that virtual scene. But really – it’s all facades, like the front of an Old West town. There’s just nothing behind it except a lot of hits and someone claiming to be a fabulous genius. With the exception of the guy who put together Facebook, one could snatch the iPhone out of any Internet Emperor Du Jour’s hand, and all you’d have left is a dude without an iPhone with his mom’s Starbuck’s card in his back pocket.

This TSWW phenomenon is in part due to our depressed socio-economic climate. When we can’t get the jobs to make the money to buy the houses and the new cars that make us feel like a great big success, we must seek the feeling of success in other ways. One of those placebos is fame. And let me tell you – one can be very famous, and not have two nickels to rub together. Fame and money do not go hand in hand. Yet the validation of the fame can substitute the validation given to us by “stuff”. Mind you, I’m not endorsing the pursuit of “stuff” as a healthy emotional or spiritual validation. I’m simply pointing out that in our obsessing on all the wrong things, we have transferred the impetus for Tom Sawyer. Just look at our cultural addiction to the allure of soft-scripted Reality TV.

For those who don’t work in TV, “soft scripted” means that the producers who are on location with the folks in the TV program give them direction by feeding them what to say to start out a scene, or to “keep the drama going.” Often, your TV favorites aren’t coming up with all that juicy stuff on their own. They have a producer feeding them witty, weird, and downright dysfunctional stuff to do and say, from the wings. With the exception of a very few good Reality shows on TV, like Deadliest Catch — “Reality” isn’t real. (Here’s a hint: If it has “Real” in the title, like Real Housewives of Anything, Real L Word, Real World – it’s not real. It’s soft-scripted.) The point of soft-scripting is to get out of paying a union writer, or union actors. Snookie just needs to have an orange tan and she’s golden – literally.

In fact, we now have so many American Idol contestants that people can’t keep them straight from season to season. We have flooded the market with disposable insty-talent, just like the sea of Apps that are at our fingertips at any given moment. We download them, use them once or twice, and uninstall them.

Yet unlike an App, the human spirit suffers through this process.

We have lost touch with the actual pace of life, and the pace of success. We have lost touch with the pace of building, the pace of learning, and the pace of growing.

We have lost touch.

For those who don’t work in entertainment, I also looked in the “regular” job section, and saw the same Tom Sawyer White Wash phenomenon: People wanting receptionists, salespeople, marketing folks, etc and so on, and wanting the best of the best with the whole “resume , references, and cover letter” thing – only to find out at the end of the solicit that the jobs were “unpaid” with the possibility of a permanent hire once something “opens up”, or of course, the ever-fascinating “intern” solicit. And no, these weren’t “spam” posts on Craigslist. They’re real companies, asking for real help. It’s UN-real.

Sure, interning is terrific for someone who has never worked in a new field. I interned when I was in my early 20’s for an entertainment company and I learned an invaluable amount of information that helped launch my career. But when established businesses are working the “intern” angle and asking that someone has at least 5 years experience and the resume of a Boeing Engineer – that’s a case of wanting “something for nothing”.

I even have a good pal who, in order to get a new job, had to put at least a week’s worth of work into a half-hour presentation for the prospective employer. That could have been 45+ hours of unpaid time for this individual, just trying to prove above and beyond the resume, cover letter, and references, that they were competent enough. Luckily for my friend, they got the job. But since when do prospective brick-layers have to build the wall for the construction company first, and then, once the wall is built and the work has been done, wait around to see whether they will be hired or not? That sounds a little “ancient Egypt” to me.

And we wonder why the karma has gone south in our Private Sector.

The bottom line is that people in our nation are so tired of being out of work, and are so desperate to feel as though their skills are still needed, and so desperate to feel part of something and someone that believes in them, that there are talented, lovely, trusting, and well-meaning people who are taking these jobs – for free. I’d be very interested to see, once a company knows these folks will work for free – if they are ever offered a paycheck down the road.

My guess is not. After all, they’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

Of course, yes – there is always the argument that one gets paid in any job, even if the “pay” is experience. And there are of course amazing volunteer positions all over this nation that are enormously emotionally, socially, and spiritually edifying. Again, I myself have done a lot of jobs for free, and I volunteer my time on many endeavors. That’s called being a productive member of society.

But that’s not what I’m talking about.

I’m referring to the fact that SO many of our perceptions in this nation have been manipulated by the illusions of grandeur, the illusion of “celebrity association”, the illusion of “being on TV” even through a soft-scripted series, that the VALUE we once placed in the gifts and talents of others has been devalued. The problem is, the more socially acceptable it becomes not to honor people with either personal respect or pay, or not to commit to people in a work environment, or to only use the best of what people have to offer and then throw the person away – the more often all of the above will occur. I suppose the best we can do is educate each other on the fact that it’s happening, and encourage people to raise their bar.

If you’re an individual who is talented enough to do the job of 16 people, is internet savvy enough to build a virtual empire, and has enough trust in someone else to eventually “pay you” – then I would highly recommend starting your own business, and simply building it yourself. The energies are ripe at this time in spiritual history for entrepreneurs to shine. The key here is ACTUALLY doing the work. There is no “app” for success.

I’ve been stunned over the last year and a half at the disproportionately startling number of people who have approached not only my friends, but me, to work on this project or that, only to find out that they don’t have a plan at all. Their plan was to get some schmoe like me — who specializes in not only having a plan, but the professional network to implement the plan – to make everything happen. Everything, of course, except collect a paycheck, or receive any credit. That’s saved for the Tom Sawyer who is putting together the white wash crew.

It’s gotten so bad that many businesses are having to go back and eat where they’ve defecated. I had a magazine want to “honor” me by “inviting” me to be a writer for them (unpaid), even though a year prior, they had “revoked” (actual word) their offer of an approved cover story on me — after telling me that I didn’t fit the “standards” of their demographic due to some unrelated six-year-old music promo photos I had online that they stumbled upon the month the cover was to come out. (I kid you not. This is a real story.) Instead, they offered the consolation of re-assigning the article on the edgy Spiritual Embarrassment known as “me” into the middle of the magazine, where it would be “more appropriate”. (Seriously.) Why bother featuring me at all, if I’m not up to their “standards”? Well, the answer to that media math problem is simple — they could still save a little face and reap the benefits of my promotion of their periodical to my fan base, yet not have to publicly claim outward endorsement of me on the cover. I declined the “middle of the mag” part, as being told I didn’t “fit their standards” was enough for me. It’s no shocker that they were down staff. So here they were, a year later, “extending an invitation” through an unsuspecting third party, for me do free “work” for them as a writer – because it would be “good exposure” and “good promotion” for me. Hmmm… but … I thought they didn’t want my brand directly associated with their magazine, because I wasn’t up to their “standards”? (Where’s that can of white wash?) I mean, those deal-breaking music promo photos were still online — wouldn’t it be worse for the magazine if someone who did not fit their “standards”, like me, appeared as staff? Isn’t that a greater professional endorsement, having my voice and my opinion shape their magazine? Of course it is. But now that they had viewed my writing style, liked it, and moreover, needed writers for free, they claimed their actions the prior year were nothing more than a “miscommunication”. There was no miscommunication. I still have the emails directly from the magazine’s editor. She was very clear in why they “revoked” the cover (love it!). And honestly, whatever — that’s their right, so rock on freedom of the press. But let’s not change history just because we now need free stuff. That’s just trashy.

I suspect that many others had become high as a kite from huffing the magazine’s white wash fumes, so perhaps they felt my short-term memory would be wiped from the chemical peel as well. Yet the problem with the Tom Sawyer White Wash way of doing business is that it doesn’t work with those of us who have already painted our share of fences. Yet it seems this disingenuous modality is incredibly common these days.

P.T. Barnum would say that there’s a sucker born every minute.  I’d augment that saying for 2012: There’s someone hopeful born every minute. And to those who wish to take advantage of them – I wouldn’t recommend it. Karma really is a bitch. (Trust me. I’ve met her and she’s awful.)

I seem to be doing just fine without having appeared in that magazine, with a spiritual book now off to my editor that will be coming out in the next six weeks, and two TV pilots in the hopper. And the magazine is none the worse for wear without my participation. Yet the story goes to illustrate that we are the ones who are in control of our associations and our lessons. We are the energetic company we keep. We choose the chaos with which we capitulate and which track we are to travel depending on which challenge we require in our life at that time. If we believe we are not of value, then when someone devalues us, we jump on the chance to participate. Though we should always be the first to help those in need, we should remain mindful of the application of our gifts and talents. Our abilities are our wealth, given to us freely by Spirit, to be given freely. Yet just as we would not squander our hard-earned savings, we should not squander our dearest gifts, talents, and affections on those who would not be able to comprehend them.

We cannot gain acceptance from anyone without accepting within ourselves that we are worthy to receive, be it financial, emotional, social, or spiritual. As my grandpa Charlie used to say, “There’s nothing in this life that’s free.” Well, except one thing: Our choice to raise our personal bar in our business and personal dealings. That doesn’t cost a dime. It does, however, take emotional elbow grease. So perhaps all those muscles developed over the years while wielding white wash for Tom Sawyer can be put to good use.

This time – just make sure to bring your own brushes. Every artist finds their own style, after time.

Staring Saturn Return in the Face, or: On the Eve of My Birthday

This will likely be a shorter post, since I’m lying here in the dark, thinking about my birthday tomorrow, and playing author (with my thumbs) on my Blackberry.

That being said, I’m lying in a room whose ceiling is covered in projected blue stars, breaking the inky night. I’ve always been a fan of the night sky, and one of the most exciting evenings of my life was spent this summer on dear friends’ boat, camping out on a lake under the stars. In February, its far too cold for such an endeavor. So projected stars will have to do :).

Birthdays are a good time for reflection, as its also our “Saturn Return” point, which means that Saturn returns to the exact station it sat in, when we were born. Saturn is the teaching planet, the strict parent, and thus, most birthdays for most people bring with them some sort of evaluation on a personal level. I’m turning 43 tomorrow, and my life makes much more sense when I recall this fact.

I’m blessed when I hear people say, “I can’t believe you’ve done all that (insert albums, film, tv, plays, radio, psychic work, etc etc and so on)”, and it seems like *so* much — until I remind them and myself that I’ve been doing what I’m doing as an adult for over 20 years now, lol — sheesh, I hoped I’ve racked up somewhat of a list ;)! Yet what I find fascinating at 43 is the space in my life that I’m currently in. It isn’t about “breaking new ground” as much as it is about cultivating the ground I’ve tilled and cared for over the years. Sure, there are a few things I want to do this year that I’ve not previously accomplished — finish a book, for one. And that’s on the top of my list. But in terms of creative projects, outside of perhaps producing a full-length play that I’ve written (I’ve produced one acts I’ve written), there isn’t much “new ground” to break, as much as returning to doing what I’ve really loved doing before.

I think that’s one of the great joys of one’s 40’s: The fact that we’ve already picked through a vast majority of the Whitman’s Sample Platter of Life in order to figure out which chocolates we truly dig. There isn’t that “fight” to figure out who we are at this age, but instead, there is this great enjoyment of *what* we actually are. People’s “mid life crisis” points usually have to do with mourning the loss of “endless new horizons” that one has in their 20’s, and the panic of feeling “trapped” in a banal life of routine that then ensues. This issue of “being trapped” is an illusion based on the lack of really yet being able to get one’s head around what cresting into one’s 40’s is ACTUALLY all about.

In your 20’s, its all about showing the world what you’ve got, and falling into the next big life-altering adventure around the corner. In your 40’s, its all about showing what you’ve got to the world, and that in and of itself is the adventure. Its a peaceful and fulfilling place to be, and some people mistake that peace as “life being over”. That’s hysterical to me. That’s like winning the lottery and then pouting because you now “have it all”, so what is there to work toward? I wouldn’t re-do the chaos of my 20’s for a zillion bucks and a bucket of sweet cream Coldstone Ice Cream, though I’m glad I did up my 20’s the way that I did. That chaos is what made me who I am, and at the time — it was a thrill, and a heck of a lot of fun.

In your 40’s, you don’t have anything to prove to yourself anymore, and ergo, you don’t feel the need to prove it to others. You just *are*, and you do what you do.

It’s blissful.

I didn’t get to this place without some struggle. I had to come out of the relationship I had with my self identity I’d forged through conquest — ergo, my 20’s and 30’s — and try and understand what’s left, if not for breaking new ground? Though growth is great, the rush of “new” can be its own distraction, and if one’s lifepath is ONLY about “what’s new and next”, then one is ignoring the fruit one’s life is bearing in the moment. That’s like a farmer planting a wheat crop and just as it peaks, the farmer then leaves it to rot on the stem, because the farmer has moved on to brand new ground to start planting before harvesting the crop that is ready. It makes no sense.

So here is to 43: My year to reap and reap from the beautiful yielding crops I’ve planted over the years. I always welcome “new” anything. Yet what is most important to me now is fully bringing into the world the gifts I’ve been given. I’m so outrageously humbled by my wealth of life experiences, and I fully look forward to even more. However, today I’m simply thankful. Just plain-wrap, garden variety thankful, to all my family, friends, and those I’m lucky and honored enough to call “fans” — for loving me exactly for who I am, and appreciating what I have to offer for exactly what it is.

There is no greater gift in this world, birthday or not.

The Cliff Shepherd and the King: An Original Fable

Sometimes, a fable is the best way to convey all aspects of a message. So, I’ve written this fable this morning, for Valentine’s Day, to help bring clarity to those who are struggling with loss or betrayal — Enjoy!

The Cliff Shepherd and the King

Once upon a time, on a high mountain path, there lived a young man and his wife. He was a simple man, and his goal was to tend his flock of sheep on the side of the hill until he could sell the wool in the spring. Once he filled his purse with silver, he would move both he and his wife down the mountain, to inhabit land closer to the river, so that his wife would not have to struggle with heavy water buckets up the rocky and unsafe Cliffside. For several seasons, this young man sheered his sheep and saved his silver. It would be this season where his bag would be full enough to purchase the small mossy patch by the river beneath the trees – the spot just big enough to place their thatched roof shack.

One day a man came walking up the path with several servants at his side. He was a grand man, with colorful robes and gold adorning his fingers and neck. The cloth in his robes was made of the most striking purple the young man had ever seen, and his hair was combed a long red, with an azure blue bow holding his thick locks neatly behind his ears.

The grand man approached, and the young man came down the hillside. “Excuse me, good sir,” said the young man, “but I’ve never seen you before on this path. Do you need direction?”

The grand man smiled. “I do not, but thank you, kind son. This is my kingdom.”

The young man was taken aback, realizing that he was in the presence of his King. He dropped to one knee. “Sire, I’m so very sorry. I am but a poor shepherd, and I do not know the face of my king.”

The grand man continued with his benevolent smile, “All is well, my son. Please, stand and talk. Why do you work so hard above the clouds?”

“Your Highness, my only desire is to earn the silver from the backs of my sheep, so that I may buy the small parcel of land below for my wife.”

“I see,” said the King. “And which parcel would that be?”

“There,” the young man pointed.

The King squinted through the mist to see a large oak tree below, and a clearing beneath it. “I see,” he said. “And why do you wish to have this parcel, of all the parcels you could own?”

“Well, Sire, if you look at how the river bends there, you’ll notice it feeds the tree. That is because there is a small spring under the trees roots. If I build a cottage there, my beautiful wife will not have to scar her hands any longer to fetch the water. She will merely need to kneel.”

“I see,” said the King. “And how did you find this spring? I cannot see it from here.”

“I was born on this land,” the young man answered, “and every inch I have explored.”

“And there is no other parcel anywhere by the river that you would wish to own more than the one below, even though all of your years have given you glances at every mile of river?”

“That’s correct, Sire,” the young man answered. “I have worked my whole life to move my beautiful wife down to the river, on that perfect parcel of land.”

“And who owns this land?” the King asked.

 “The old woman in the valley, with the black cows, owns the title to the land. It belonged to her husband,” answered the young man.

“I see,” said the King. The grand man stood in repose for a moment, looking through the cool mist below at the tiny mossy plot beneath the tree. The king clapped his hand. “Servant!”

“Yes, Sire?” the servant bowed deeply forward.

 “Find the old woman with the black cows and buy that mossy parcel of land, under the tree. I shall build my spring home there.”

“Yes, Sire,” answered the servant, who promptly lifted the top off of a small jewel-inlaid chest and removed a bag, heavy with clinking gold.

 The young man was devastated. He fell to his knees in despair, clutching the ankles of the king. “Your Majesty, I beg you! Please, of all the land in all of your kingdom, please do not take my parcel below! It is everything I have worked for!”

The King snapped his fingers and his servants removed the young man from the King’s feet. “It is not your parcel of land. If it were, I would not be able to buy it.”

“But Sire,” the young man cried, “you have such a grand palace! Why ever would you want such a small mossy plot to rest your royal head?”

“Because you have said it is the perfect parcel, on all the river. You have already told me of its benefits, and I agree that they are many. I would not have even known of that parcel of land had you not pointed me to it. But now that I have seen it, I wish to own it. You have already wanted it greatly, so why would not I?”

“But your highness,” the young man begged, “I have worked so hard to own the parcel this spring!”

“Yes, my son,” he replied, “yet I am able to own it today.”

With that, the King and his servants turned and headed back down the Cliffside from which they came. The young man sat on his knees sobbing, unable to stand as he watched the grand man and his valets laugh and tell stories as they disappeared into the mist below.

The young man felt his heart break inside of him. He did not know how to tell his wife that they would not be moving down the Cliffside to the glorious mossy patch that they had dreamed of.

The day wore on, and the young man was unable to stand on his feet as he sobbed into the rocky dirt below. As the sun crested high and began to sink behind the mountains, another man came over the hill, this time, on a horse. This man was dressed in a plain weaved robe of the common brown color that prevailed in the county. A heavy hood hung over his face. The young man was blocking the horse’s path, and the traveler and his horse came to a halt.

“Hello, good sir,” said the traveler. “Are you hurt?”

The young man could barely form words through his tears, his head hung to his chest. “I am not hurt of the body, good traveler, but my heart is broken.”

The traveler slid off his horse and knelt beside the young man, “And such a big heart it is, by the look of your pain. Who would do such a thing?”

The young man could barely whisper, “My King.”

The traveler seemed quite surprised. “Your King?”

“Yes, kind sir,” the young man continued. “The King and his servants were on a walk, and asked me why I worked so hard here above the clouds on the Cliffside. When I told them I spent my life raising my sheep so that I could purchase the mossy parcel of land below once the spring comes, so that my wife does not have to bruise her hands fetching our water, the King sent his servant to purchase the land today.”

The traveler put his hand on the young man’s shoulder. “Kind sir, please raise your eyes.”

“I cannot,” said the young man, who continued to weep. “How will I tell my wife that everything I have hoped for is now gone?”

“Young man,” the traveler said gently, “I have just come from the valley, where my good aunt resides on a farm of black cows. She told me a story of a grand man who arrived in robes of purple, demanding to purchase the mossy parcel beneath the oak tree, upon the bend of the river. When she told him of the cost, his servant pulled a bag from a chest covered in bits of glass, and opened it to pour tin chips onto the table.”

The young man raised his head slowly, “But that cannot be. It was a chest of jewels, and in it, a bag of gold. I witnessed it with my own eyes.”

“My child,” said the traveler, “have you ever seen a true jewel, living so high up on the Cliffside?”

“Well,” thought the young man, “…no. But I have heard stories that they catch the light as does the sun.”

“Yes, as does sand when great heat forges it into the colored glass that lights the cathedral at Notre Dame,” the traveler replied.

The confused young man wiped his eyes. “But what of the bag of gold? I saw the bag with my own eyes!”

“Yes,” answered to traveler, “yet did you see the glistening gold within?”

“Well,” thought the young man, “…no. But I heard the heavy bag rustling heavy with the pieces.”

“Yes, as does tin when it is chipped and lying in a bag,” answered the traveler.

The young man was sitting straight up now. He was dumbfounded. “But kind sir, even with tin and glass, it was my King who wishes to have my land. I met him and touched him with my own hands, and he told me with his own mouth that he was my King.”

“Young man,” answered the traveler, “have you ever laid eyes on your King?”

“Well,” thought the young man, “…no.”

“Now you have.” The traveler removed the hood from his head to show brilliant blonde hair and a perfectly clipped blonde beard, with shining, kind blue eyes. “I am your King.”

The young man froze. He was wary of this stranger, and was fearful he would be punished for treason upon the King’s return to claim his land below. “Pardon me, sir, but you do not appear to be a king. Your clothes are common, as are mine. This man — he was dressed as I would think a king dresses, in robes of purple.”

“Yes, as does also the group of thespians at the Saturday market, who put on plays of royalty to fancy the vendors,” answered the traveler.

The young man was still baffled. “But you have no servants. The King had servants fawning on his every gesture. You have nothing but a horse.”

The traveler smiled. “My son, it does not take a king to subjugate others, only the heart of a tyrant. And my horse,” he gestured with his palm open to the animal, “has a fine saddle.”

For the first time, the young man looked at the beast. It was not a farm horse, but a tall well-kept steed, whose coat had been culled to a glistening black. On his hooves were colorful red silk runners, and upon his back was a golden-gilded saddle. The young man squinted against the sunset bursting off of the golden horn, atop which a white diamond exploded like a miniature sun with prisms dancing onto the grass. On the saddle was emblazoned the royal seal of the county, a seal that all children learned at birth: An eagle talon, the same eagle talon that was pressed into an enormous but simple glistening gold ring that sat on the index finger of the traveler, whose hand was extended toward the majestic animal.

The young man fell to his face at the feet of the traveler. “My King!”

The King chuckled, “Raise your eyes, kind sir.”

The young man was trembling. “My King, please forgive my insults in calling another man your station. I know not what I have done!”

“No, child,” the King said, standing and helping the young man from the mud, “the man who has impersonated me knows not what he was done. The fault is his.” The King brushed dirt off of the young man’s clothes as he continued to speak. “My son, this man fancies himself a king. He adorns an actor’s costume and takes to the countryside, deceiving those who would be none the wiser. It was your belief that made him a king.”

“Will he be punished?” asked the young man, fearing for the grand man’s life.

“He has already received punishment. For you see, this grand man fell prey to his own folly, and introduced himself as the King to the king’s true aunt. By county law, anyone impersonating the King is sentenced to death. Had you not told this man where to find the farm with the black cows, he would have never come upon my aunt, and would have never introduced himself as the King, committing treason. Had it not been for you, this grand man would have continued to deceive many. It is because of his own greed, to become a king he was not, and to own the dreams of another man, that lead him to his demise.” 

The young man could barely believe what he was hearing. “But what of his servants?”

The King laughed, “They ran to the forest in fear when the royal guard came for this grand man at the market.”

“They did not protect him?” the young man asked, dumbfounded.

“My child,” the king continued, “those men were not servants, but actors playing a part. Those who play at serving others for only their own sense of purpose will be the first to abandon the purpose for their own self.”

The young man stared off into the distance at the parcel of land below. “Thank you, Sire, for your compassion, and your wisdom.”

The King could not help but notice the saddened look on the young man’s face as he stared at the mossy parcel below. “What troubles your heart?” he asked.

“Your Majesty, in my woe, weeping into the rocky ground, I have wasted the best market day of the season,” the young man answered. “Today was the day I was to take my wool to market, to sell to the vendors from across the water before the travel back across the seas at dawn, and to finally earn the rest of the silver pieces that I need. I was to take this money and purchase the mossy parcel for my wife. Yet because I was deceived, I have lost the parcel.”

“No, child,” the King said, “it is because you were deceived that you have gained the parcel.”

The King reached into his common brown robe and pulled out a scroll. “This is the deed to the mossy plot below. The grand man told my aunt of the young man’s plans to make a home for his family, and how he came to know of the parcel. Now it is yours, from my family to yours, in thanks.”

The young man burst into tears, his hand shaking as he took the scroll. “Thank you! Oh, thank you, your Majesty!  Forgive me, yet I do not know how I have earned this!”

“Your honesty has earned this land,” answered the king. “Your honest work on this rocky Cliffside season after season has already claimed that mossy parcel as your own. And your honest heart has claimed the love of your King.”

With that, the majestic King took to his horse in one leap, and for the first time, the young man could see the glistening armor, hidden beneath the common robe. As the king rode down the rocky cliff through the mist, the young man realized it was time to feed his sheep. And what a story he would have for his dear wife.

The moral of the story is: Things are never as they appear when those pretending to be kings attempt to take away what is meant for those on whom The King has already bestowed.
